Third Star Wars character joins Soul Calibur IV cast

The Force is strong with the next installment in Namco's weapons-based fighting series. GameSpot reports that both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Soul Calibur IV will feature Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" from LucasArt's forthcoming Star Wars: The Force Unleashed as a playable character.

Each console version of Soul Calibur IV will feature one exclusive Star Wars icon: Darth Vader in the PS3 release and Yoda on 360. We'll have first screens of Vader's apprentice in action Soul Calibur-style tomorrow.

I enjoy the picture except for the fact that Vader has absolutely no physical depth in it. It looks like the apprentice is kneeling before a cardboard cutout.

I was under the impression the player was going to be the "Secret Apprentice". Does this mean Unleashed isn't going to have a female option, or is SC4 just going to ignore the fact girls play these games too? Or am I completely confused and Unleashed's character is fixed?

The apprentice is called Starkiller and will feature not just in the game but also in a novel, comic book and appear as an action figure. In that case I think it would be safe to say that the design is set as that guy, so no female option for you unfortunately.

When I read the title, I was kinda expecting to read a Wii version for the third character. Oh well.
It's still nice add-in. But only the PS3 version will be able to have a Master vs. Apprentice battle.

Yoda>Count Dooku>Qui Gon Jin>Obi Wan Kenobi> Anakin Skywalker (Vader) / Luke Skywalker

Emperor Palpatine had Count Dooku, Darth Maul and Darth Vader as apprentices ..

I don't really see the point of your post and what you're complaining about. If you're implying 360 version will outsell PS3 version because it has Yoda, the general concensus is Vader is the more desirable character. If you're implying Yoda has the advantage because of his design, you'd be correct since everytime a character like him has been attempted in the past by Namco, they've broken the balance and considering the director himself has said the focus on Yoda is fun and not so much Balance, that's a baaaaaaad thing.
