The Force is strong with the next installment in Namco's weapons-based fighting series. GameSpot reports that both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Soul Calibur IV will feature Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" from LucasArt's forthcoming Star Wars: The Force Unleashed as a playable character.
Each console version of Soul Calibur IV will feature one exclusive Star Wars icon: Darth Vader in the PS3 release and Yoda on 360. We'll have first screens of Vader's apprentice in action Soul Calibur-style tomorrow.

First off, I am pleased with this development, I was unhappy with the fact that you couldn't get Yoda and Darth Vader because I wanted Sith Vs. Jedi battles but with the apprentice in the mix I am satisfied and I don't feel I (as a 360 owner) am losing out by not getting Vader. Secondly, I think Trojanguy hit the nail on the head, after about a month they will port the characters over to the other systems for a price, don't quote me on that but I figure that's the case. I love SC and what the hell, I am not ashamed to say that I will totally play the Star Wars characters and nerd the hell out on it. Fuck yeah, this game is FT F*ckn W.

So does this mean that the 360 is Jedi and the PS3 is Sith?
Also, where are Vader's feet?

Well you get the apprentice on both systems, so yes and no. Vader's on PS3 and Yoda is on 360. If you are asking if the consoles themselves are Jedi and Sith... No...?

Less Star Wars, please - unless they add Lando Calrissian.

First thought: Who's this Starkiller jerkass? Where the hell is Mara Jade?
Second thought: Oh, that's right, Mara was the EMPEROR's hidden apprentice, not Vader's.
Third thought: My God, that may be the dorkiest train of thought I've ever had in my entire life.
