Is it just me, or do most new "next-gen" main characters have to have buzz cuts or really short hair?

There's a reason for that. Nariko from Heavenly Sword stole a great portion of the available hair for this generation. I'm afraid it's buzz cuts and cue balls until the next Final Fantasy.

I both understand and accept your explanation. I eagerly await non-painted-on hair offered by Squeenix

How is it ironic? Force Unleashed has things like...environments and other objects. This game is just 2 high polygon characters squaring off in a tiny arena.

Thanks for giving what seems to be an originally fighting style, not a ripoff like Vader

i'm all about having vader and the new apprentice in the game, but it would be rad to just have a stand-alone jedi fighter with the scvi engine.

When adding lightsaber-wielding Star Wars characters to Soulcalibur IV, it seems like they'll either have to sacrifice long-established Star Wars universe conventions, or sacrifice Soulcalibur IV's game balance.

The main reason is because in the Star Wars universe, a lightsaber can cut through ANYTHING except another lightsaber.

If they keep that rule in place, Vader/Yoda/apprentice will be able to slice right through anyone else's weapon and armor. The fight will be over in seconds, and so will any balance in the game.

If they allow other character's weapons to parry a lightsaber, that ends what makes lightsaber so special and desirable, such a unique feat of imagination that the Star Wars universe has achieved.

I don't see any way out of this dilemma.

And that's before we even get in to Force powers, like Push. If you can Force Push a character right off the fighting platform, that's also unbalanced, but restricting that Force power also breaks Star Wars continuity.
