Try Guitar Hero: On Tour one week early at Toys R Us

Players eager for some portable shredding can head to their local TRU between noon and 4 p.m. on June 14 -- one week before the game's June 22 release. Besides getting the opportunity to "prove their shredding skills on the most diverse set list of master tracks ever offered in a Guitar Hero game," as the release puts it, attendees will also receive a "complimentary Guitar Hero sticker, dog tag, and temporary tattoo." Caution: Wearing all three at once may actually transform you into a rock god, accidentally raining rock-infused destruction on the surrounding area. You've been warned.

It's the smart thing to do. Though it could work quite the opposite and people who thought about getting it will shy away if the controls suck (and who wants to shout "ROCK OUT!" at their DS? I thought we got over that phase)

Playing Super Mario 64 for the first time at Toys R Us changed my ten-year-old's perspective on life in a pretty significant way. I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
Yet somehow, I don't think I'll be missing much by not playing the latest nail in the Guitar Hero coffin.

That was stupid and unclear. I meant I played it when I was ten, not that I have a ten year old. Also, I hope it's a good game, but with Guitar Hero lately, it's pretty fair to say that all signs point to suck.

Thanks joystiq for bringing back a great memory... I remember going to toys R US and wanting to purchase a bike, but I started playing Mario Kart 64 instead.

My first time playing Mario 64 was in Sears... good memories.

I say, dear lads, this looks like the perfect time for some star power. Rock Out!

I remember playing Sonic Adventure at a Funcoland once. I shat myself and bought a Dreamcast. Good times.
....play Guitar what?

Free sticker, dog tag, and temp tattoo?!
I have the feeling that all three will just feature the guitar hero logo instead of something cool like flaming eyeballs or demonic skulls...

Why is it only four hours? It's not like they've got three copies they've got to demo in every Toys R Us in the country within a week. I'd rather show up at 10am on a Tuesday and have it to myself for half an hour.

I'm still not pumped on this game. My brain is scared after that really crappy video and is now overcheesed.

I was wondering how Godzilla would play GH:OT

I don't frequent Toys R Us as often anymore, but, still, the last games I remember actually demo-ing in TRU were:
1. Guitar Hero III
2. Mario 64
3. Sonic Adventure
4. Mario Kart (snes)

A speech bubble with the phrase "OM NOM NOM" would fit this picture perfectly.
I imagined it, and I loled.
