I'm in the beta and I haven't played in weeks...that should clue you into something.

it's a beta and not finished, therefore you are bored with it and frustrated by the inevitable bugs.
poor you.

See what I did there?
On topic: Excellent coverage by massively, I recommend listening to the podcast for some Q&A toward the author of these articles, Mr Zenke. Good times!

This is the first MMO I've been excited about since UO (which was a disappointment). PvP focused where losing means something, like losing your home city? I'm in.
PeterBeck @ Jun 7th 2008 11:03AM
I'm a little disappointed to hear that they decided not to include the Skaven. They could have made a great ranged DSP class with their jezzails and poison orbs.
The other classes are fine, but my plague rat loving heart is thoroughly broken.
LaughingTarget @ Jun 7th 2008 2:59PM
I understand their reasoning though. No real home, no counterpart to battle against, they'd just not work in the game's flow.
SkreeHunter @ Jun 7th 2008 7:57PM
I'm only so familair with Warhammer but wouldn't the Skaven be better paired up with the Dwarves? Didn't they fight a lot underground? Maybe that was just the night goblins.
If you did that though, you'd have to bring in another "good" race to balance it out.
LaughingTarget @ Jun 8th 2008 5:25AM
From what I understand, while the Skaven do fight underground, they're more of (using their words) an infestation. They don't have cities or any kind of central location from which to engage in a fight. They just pop up like a disease. This wouldn't work very well within the scope of the game as the Skaven don't have anything to conquer. Players would just be glorified MOBs running around in dungeons.

I'm looking forward to this game. I've preordered the collector's edition, which is something that I haven't done for a game since Warcraft III (although it's mainly because the CE had so much cool stuff in it, like a warhammer figurine and access to the beta).
SkreeHunter @ Jun 7th 2008 6:08PM
Sweet, pubic quests.
Castigador @ Jun 7th 2008 11:47PM
I'm waiting for this, I would pre-order the CE if it were possible in my country. Anyway to get it in SE Asia aside from having a relative in the US get it for you?
GenBanks @ Jun 8th 2008 6:15AM
By having a relative in Europe...
