I'm deleting all my garbage games first so I assume Kirby 64 and LostWinds will be hitting the chopping block. The NES games I dislike, SMB2 and Xevious, are well too small to even considering deleting, there's really no point. But first, there needs to be WiiWare games I'm really interested in.

I've deleted all the "channels" except the Nintendo Channel (it's just too new) and the Everybody Votes Channel (it's a guilty pleasure).

Other than that, I start with the N64 games and work my way from there. I actually just got a new Wii for a warranty replacement, so it was completely empty when I got it. So, now I'm just downloading games when I want to play them.

I agree with the above poster though. NES games aren't even worth deleting since they're hardly any blocks.

Thankfully I didn't really have all that many channels in the first place taking up space. I had only had 3 VC games prior to launch (Zelda: OoT, Comix Zone, River City Ransom) which I moved over to SD anyway. I also moved over the Opera Channel. The only thing that I have otherwise (besides retail game saves, and mandatory channels) is the Nintendo Channel.

Oh, and LostWinds, as it's currently the only WiiWare title I own. I'm in a good position, space-wise, so I have time until I start making cuts again.

I have 202 blocks left after I bought my first WiiWare game, Toki Tori. When Gyrostarr comes I might be able to squeak by if I delete my Dr. Mario Demo, but after that it's not gonna be pretty.

I haven't bought anything Wiiware or VC, so I'm empty except for the opera browser.

I still have another 900 blocks free with two small Wiiware games and a handful of VC games, so I'm still good.

I've deleted Check Mii Out and Everybody Votes just because I wanted to get rid of them, but I still don't have much space, so when EarthBound/SBCG4AG comes out, Pokemon Snap and the Internet Channel will probably be the first and second to go.

I still have over a thousand blocks left, but when I do start running out of them the weather, news, and check Mii out channels will be the first to go.

I'm no fan fo downloading Wiiware games and VC, I only got Mario Kart 64 on VC and My Life as A Kind and Lost Wind on the Wiiware section.

Still, If I have to release some space, 'll be deleting channels like news channels (I read the paper for that) and the photo channel

Wow, that sounds perfectly legal. And you certainly sound like a trustworthy person posting that review and all.
What percentage of our money do you get in the scam?

In response to the actual thread, I am kinda surprised this is such a problem for people. I have downloaded maybe 12 VC games and 3 Wii-Ware games. I am near the limit, but I don't need 15 games on my Wii at all times. A lot of the games I downloaded for the nostalgia factor. Games like Kid Icarus, Act Raiser, Super Mario World, Zelda OoT, etc. I complete them and then delete them. If I want to go back to them in a couple years, that option is available.

The only things i delete are unwanted channels, namely Check Mii Out and Everybody Votes (though i got quite a bit of use out of Everybody Votes)

My policy is to not delete games, period. So my buying patterns will be severely restricted until the memory crisis is resolved

brbarnhart - I do not appreciate your comments - I thought that I was being helpful telling people where to get games for the Wii. I am NOT getting money from any sort of scam and I will be reporting you for this. Everyone else seems to be happy with the website I recommended as they are enjoying the selection of games available. The company are a legitimate website - check them out if you don't believe me!!

There's no such thing as "downloading Wii games legally without piracy" unless you're downloading directly from Nintendo.

Please don't post links to your piracy sites.

Amen to Sonic_13. It looks like some kind of "format ROMs to fit your Wii, find the ROMs yourself so we're not on the hook" site. So, paying money to enable piracy.

ke.mcgowan, I can accept that you don't work for this company and are endorsing it honestly. But, just because a site says "this is legal!" doesn't mean it's true. I also wonder exactly where one can find the "CNN endorsement" - sounds made-up.

Now, I don't have any problem keeping a ROM of a cart I own, or of a VC game I bought - either way, I've paid something. But free ROMs instead of for-sale VC games is piracy, pure and simple.

@bc - It wasn't a CNN endorsement. It was just an idiot commenting in another thread promoting some site and then getting really nasty when people told him to go away.

The Metroid Prime 3 Preview Channel doesn't even work anymore. Feel free to delete it. (Although I imagine it doesn't take up much space.)

I honestly believe releasing a hard drive would be a mistake. There are much better options out there, most notably making better use of the SD card slot.

A 2gig SD card would provide (I believe) an additional 16,000 blocks of memory. That would easily satisfy the needs of anyone for a long time to come. Yet people are demanding hard drives. These would simply be bulky and extremely overkill. A small 20 gig hard drive would probably enable everyone here to download everything on the Wii Shop Channel several times over. It's just unnecessary.

Enabling people to play games and channels directly from SD cards and allow channels to appear on the Wii Menu even if they are stored on an SD card is the way to go. Sure loading items may be a little slower, but the SD card option is already available to everyone and wouldn't require any bulky, expensive purchases.

Exactly. Everything for Wii is designed with the ~280 MB of usable space in mind. Suddenly dropping ~20,000 MB onto users would be excessive on a needless scale

Unless they plan to start supporting MMOs, i see no need for a proper hard-drive, just some high-capacity flash memory

Yet again I add - these games are not for free, you pay for each one individually but as you people don't seem to accept this that's fine! CNN endorsement is on the website by the way. I won't bother trying to provide information for you anymore.

That makes it even worse. Not only are you pirating games, but you are paying people for the pirated games.

That site is nothing but a scam. I've come across posts about it and others like is on several forums I frequent. Besides the fact that there's no way anything they host is legal (because all movies, music, and games have copyrights), their "legal" page is full of red flags.

Plus, if this were in any way legit, you wouldn't have to ask about it because every gamer on the internet would be talking about it.

I just deleted my first channel last night... the Metroid Prime 3 Preview Channel. Freed up what, like 15 blocks or something.

Another couple weeks of Wiiware releases in the current vein and we'll have to move some of them off to SD, though.

I've deleted Check Mii Out, Everybody Votes, Metroid Prime 3 Preview, Opera Channel, Super Mario 64, Ecco the Dolphin, and I think Bomberman '93. And even though it didn't make much difference, I copied over the save data to my SD cards for some games I don't play anymore (Monkey Ball) and deleted them from my Wii memory.

That left me with about 600 blocks left.
