"There is no disc 2! It's a duel layer disc...but games big enough to take advantage of the size cannot allow access to the data fast enough. Which means 30 minute install times and install times in between acts, resulting in only slightly better load times! Bet you wish you could take 1.5 seconds to swap discs every 20 hours now!"

MGS 4 has more then 8.5 gigs for the game. Which means a game like MGS 4 would have to be on 2 discs or more to be able to play on a 360. Possibly three or four if what kojima says is true and that the cinematic's take up a 50 gig blu-ray.
But I don't know what 360 games are two discs. But it shows that MGS 4 wouldn't be all that great if it came to the 360.

As a PC gamer, I don't see what the big deal is about installing games on a console. It's not like a 5 GB game takes a long time to install. Then you don't have to hunt for the disc every time and worry about getting it scratched, and you don't have that constant whir noise coming from the disc drive.

You still need the disc, it's just the disc is too slow to load a lot of the stuff directly. Also this means that if you have a lot of games you need to get a bigger hard drive, ten 6 gig installs and your hard drive is gone.

A double sided single layer DVD (meaning you physically flip the disc over) is 9.4 total (4.7 per side)
A dual layer DVD is indeed 8.54
