1C publishes new WWII flight sim

Between this morning's details on Call of Duty 5 and the announcement of this new flight sim, it would seem that World War II enthusiasts will be happy with the ever present abundance of era-based games. Eastern European publisher, 1C Company, is set to bring IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey to the PS3 (developed by Gaijin Entertainment) and to the PSP (Dynamicsystems).

The game lets players become a pilot fighting in five major historical aerial battles: Battle of Britain, Stalingrad, Berlin, Sicily and Korsun. An exact release date was not stated, but the game is currently slated for a 2008-2009 release window.

let the past be the past....if i see one more thing about WWII.....

Id be more interested in having a modern day or semi future flight simulator personally with a new crazy logitech joystick. . I think thatd be kinda cool.

Using gran turismo graphics with that would be amazing to.

Weak, WW2 is totally played out. At least put a spin on it like Resistance does.

BTW where is Ace Combat? We've waited long enough, you'd think that NamcoBandai would announce a PS3 version by now.

ww2 dogfighting is pretty awesome if you ask me.

blazing angels was good but just a tad too arcady for me.

Keep it a simulation and as real as possible. There is a market for flight simulation.

Hopefully it will be what blazing angels should/could have been. PC video looks awesome. AC6 will come to the PS3. Or at least AC7. 360's 'bout done. Just make them with good frame rates/no tearing. Angels had this problem on PS3 and 360. Inexcusable for $60!

No way guys IL-2 is one of the best WWII Flight sims on PC of all time, go search it youll be surprised. I Owned both of the IL-2 games and Pacific Warriors which was part of the series. When it comes to WWII Combat flight sims IL-2 hasnt been surpassed by anything, this is a really big thing for PS3 IMO.

IL-2 was easily one of the best flight sims ever made on PC and has 2 sequals in the series with a bunch of add ons which calculates to over 320 something planes and 200 something missions, and considering how PC flight sims have more realism depth and power than Console flight sims, this should be a HUGE thing for people who like them. With the PS3's power and 1C's amazing ability to make a wonderful flight sim this IMO is huge news. Go Google IL-2's reviews and see how great that game looks and was and remember that it was 03 when it came out because it still looks good visually to this day.
