I'm sold at Co-op.
I don't care what people say about COD3, still a better shooter than most.

I loved Call of Duty 3 - And I think I'll love this, co-op in Cod will just be awesome! I don't like the sound of using the Cod 4 type engine however meaning that enemy AI shoot you within a millisecond of seeing you on veteran

I was pretty hyped when the magazine came through the door and I saw the front cover.

I think it will be a pretty decent game. COD 3 was definitely better than most other shooters around at the time. Treyarch have had 2 years on this game, plus the 360 version is the lead version.

Trust me, it'll be a good game.

Modern Warfare would have been better with Treyarch instead of Infinity Ward because Infinity Ward took vehicles and split screen online play away, and that was why my friends came to my house,I still play COD 3 more than COD 4,

How many WWII games can we really keep playing over and over and over again??? I played one and that was enough for me.

First off, if you don't like the idea of playing a fps based in World War 2, then why are you playing it? Better yet, why are you paying attention to it?Seriously, no one is forcing you to buy CALL OF DUTY 5! A FPS is a FPS no matter where it's at and what the story line is. Shoot, Kill, Shoot, Kill, etc. People keep complaining about WW2 games, I just hope to god they aren't buying them, because that defeats the purpose of complaining about it. In saying this I'm going to have to pass on this game. Not because It's set in World War 2, but because Infinity Ward is not developing it. After Call of Duty 3, I nearly threw up on how bad it was. WW2 themes are fine, as long as the developer is good at the game and Treyarch well you have alot to prove after see COD4's beautiful graphics.

So if we don't like a game, we should just shut our mouth and be quiet? So companies can then use the excuse, "No one said they DIDN'T want WWII games. Let's keep making them!" No, we need to say we are TIRED of WWII shooters.

Where are the Vietnam or Korean shooters? Guess since the Nazis aren't around, it's OK to have them as the enemy. But the Koreas are technically still at war, and we "lost" Vietnam.

Killer, coming to a fanboy site and telling people not to express negative opinions of games they won't buy is borderline trolling.

jc's complaint is also valid. It's not just a complaint on all WWII games, but on a franchise that made a very successful and well recieved move by finally shifting out of that era and is now going right back to it.

The question I have is where have you all been? This was known ever since they released COD4. So the complaining seems alittle redundant and pointless for one. Activision doesn't go to xbox360fanboy everyday to look at what everyone thinks about call of duty 5. They're a company, companies look at sales and stats only. I mean look at Guitar Hero 1,2,3,4, 5? You can state how much you want about World War 2 shooters getting old, Activision only will stop when they see a chance to no longer make a profit. (I'm not disagreeing with you, they are redundant, but If the game is great then I'm going to buy it.) I haven't bought a World War 2 shooter since COD2, but I am going to buy Brother's in Arms: Hell"s Highway. It all depends on personal preference. BTW loved the "is borderline trolling", I got a good chuckle out of that. I'm not at all trying to tick anyone off, I'm just expressing my very own negative opinion of people that keep complaining about the same thing over and over agian. It's like people that complain about gas being 4 dollars, yet they don't do anything that helps them beat the cost of the fuel. Peace man and no troubles!

OH TEH NOOOOOES!!!!!!!!! BAD MOVE, ACTIVISION. Seriously, why go backwards now? Did they really think two years back that Modern Warfare might tank and they would need to go back to the over-treaded WW2 style just in case? Dumb. I'm sure the game will play fine, but do we really need more games based on WW2? Is there really anything more worthwhile to explore in that era? It's done. Move on, please.

The comments have nothing to do with the war itself. Everyone is just tired of playing it over and over and over again from one notch over on the viewpoint compass in video games. It's a question of repetitive and lazy game design, that's all. Don't wet yourself.

It's Gonna Need More Jiggawatts. ONLY Infinity Ward should make Call Ov Duty games.

This system where one company develops a game, while another does it's sequel Fails. They're trading getting rid ov Quality, and just getting them out faster.

I know, we've been making WW2 games for almost twice as long as WW2 actually went on... just sad, especially cause it makes the foreigners think that the only reason we do it is because its the last war we really won.

I love COD4 and to think the next game will go back to WWII is just stupid. Why continue to makeshames based on WWII? Just plain stupid. Are the developers of these games so lazy that they cannot come up with a new story line based in current times? And the fact that its a call of duty game means it will sell but this is a cheap way to cash in on the name. COD4 is one of the best shooters ever. Well thank the lord Gears 2 will come out. I will play gears until a better version of COD is made

This is just a clear example of a publisher using the franchise to milk money. I believe i read an article a few months back where an IW exec mentioned Treyarch were already developing the 'next' (next in that only true CoD sequals are made by IW) but after that IW would tke the reins once more for CoD5 or maybe only 6.

Personally i think this is such a bad move since WW2 whilst tried and tested, offers nothing new to gamers - we've seen every conflict zone one way or another and theres nothing left, gamers just arnt excited by that period for FPS games.

I placed a preorder on this yesterday. I was actually hoping for a WWII game. I liked 4, but still think that WWII is more fun. Now I get to shoot some Japanese which is even more original, I think I have shot every other race, even fictional alien races, but I am sure I have never shot a Japanese man.

Geez, why all the hate on WWII? It was such a large scale war there's room for a lot of games to be made. There hasn't really been a Pacific theatre game that was high quality, so maybe this will be it. I mean, what other options do they have? Basically there's WWII, Modern (also done to death) and sci-fi. I think they made the right choice.

This is by far tha worst thing activision could have done... with tha recent success in CoD4, and being "Modern Warfare", you think that they wouldve listened when people praised them for tha game of tha year... nobody really wants another WWII game. Like a poster already posted, " This is taking a step backwards" I agree. I will definately NOT be buying this, maybe if enough of us dont buy, they will not let Treyarch make another CoD.... bastards!

Eh, Treyarch. Not that COD3 was really all that bad- it wasn't. I had fun playing it. But it wasn't all that remarkable either, not in the way 2 or 4 have been at least.

I'll definitely put it on the gamefly list though.

I think i'll be doing the same i really enjoy the modern guns and ive played the WWII games too much and the same weapons on it and now they give you a flame thrower lol big woop the online weapon choice of 4 when you levelled up and the so many different catagories and some people say there was no difference in them but there was you could tell with each sniper if it had recoil and if the gun was bigger as it reacted slower aswell with the power and accuracy of some guns. So i'll be sticking to multiplayer on 4 for a good while till IW bring out a new one and hopefully its not a WWII style.

I mean, really, enough already. If they wanted to go back in time, there's A LOT of other wars throughout history they could base this game on. Show a little innovation guys.

My only gripe is that Treyarch is making it. COD3 was okay, not great, but definitely a step down from COD2 & COD4(not even graphics wise, just overall quality). Their games seem clunky. Like most, I wish Infinity Ward could pick up the rest of the series. Heck, they have enough money to open up another division or two to produce multiple games.

As far as WW2 games are concerned, they are played out. But they are still interesting. I don't mind another WW2 shooter, as long as it's quality, and leads the gamers down a different experience/action packed path.
