This game is going to sell because of the name, and then see a record in returns because people had no idea what it was.

It still looks like a pretty solid console RTS... but I'd rather play those on a PC.

Where do you buy your videogames such that you can return them after opening them? Inquiring minds want to know.

You know... that's interesting. I haven't actually tried returning a game in a long ass time. If that's the case, then damn people are going get screwed. I had at least figured you could return or exchange for another title.

You get screwed if someone lies to you when selling the game. In this case a lot of people a going to screw themselves by not, you know, reading the game cover and finding out what the game is. To those simpletons, haha!

No coverage at Microsoft's own media event, yet it's STILL due out in October?

I'm afraid to say this must really suck.

Trolls suck.

Seriously, I have played two RTS on the 360 that didn't suck. Command and Conquer and Lord of the Rings battle for middle earth. Even bought one of them after trying it(LOTRs). And have enjoyed it quite a bit. Sure, they weren't as good as using a K/M. But it still works, and it was still a lot of fun.

If EA of all publishers, can pump out two good RTS's PORTS to the console after a short development. Then Ensemble can make one great RTS designed from the ground up for the console, with 2.5+ years of development.

Seriously, the hole " RTS's don't work on consoles argument", is an old arguement. That dates back since the rise of consoles.

" Shooters have never, and will never work on a console"

"RPGS have never, and will never work on a console"

" Third person action games won't ever work on a console".

"Stealth games will never work on a console".

" Consoles are only good for arcade games" cried the PC fanboys.

Guess what. Most of those arguements recieved potentially fatal wounded in the N64- PS one era. All of those arguements were for ever cast into oblivion last generation.

Golden eye wounded the "fPS don't work on consoles arguement severely. Turok and perfect dark followed suit. Then Halo came out for the xbox, and that was the final blow.

Square Enix did a great job fighting off "RPGs don't work on consoles" with the FF series. Morrowind and KOTOR together struck the fatal blow to the arguement RPGs didn't work on consoles.

As for third person action and stealth games, way to many to name them all. Splinter cell, and Metal gear Solid to name a few. But the arguement is dead none the less.

As far as im concerned, LOTR: BFME was the golden eye of console RTS's. It was the first sign of hope for the genre, on consoles. And it opened the door for Command and Conquer 3 and Red Alert 3.

Halo Wars looks to be the Halo:CE of RTS's. That was clearly Ensembles intention, even before THEY ASKED MS to use the Halo liscence.

Despite the belief of a handful of trolls, ENSEMBLE asked Microsoft to use the licence. Microsoft wasn't attempting to milk the franshise. On a related note, PETER JACKSON ASKED MS to use the franshise for his game. After pitching his idea of a new kind of game to Bungie, during a trip there to get resources for the Halo movie.

Its pretty ironic Call of duty fanboys would accuse MS of pimping out Halo. Given the above. and given what we have seen from the two franshises since their inception.

We have had 3 Halo games in the span of 7 years. But 4 Call Of Duty games in the span of 5 years. And thats without including the cell phone games, hand held games ,and expansion packs . Activision is the biggest franshise whore in the industry now. Not EA, and not MS.
----
Halo irrelevent? If Halo is irrelevent why is it in second place in XBL activity? Why isn't GTA 4 is second place? Why did gamerpro care enough to give Halo wars the cover story? Clearly Halo isn't irrelevent. Its just not without competition in the console MP shooter market anymore.

If you have played both games recently, and given both a fair shot. And you like the competiton better thats fine. But you can't say its irrelevent because you, personally like the competition better. Thats like saying: " My view point is the only one that matters".

Your opinion is one out of 6.6 billion. Clearly enough people like Halo 3 better then Call of Duty 4, that it can sustain second place. And clearly Halo is still considered a powerful enough brand that it is worth being the cover story.

Sounds like a really awesome game, but will not be getting it unless they bring it to PC.

On second thought, End War probably has more potential to redefine console RTS's.

So screw the parables. Lets just put it this way;

LOTR: BFME 2 and C&C 3 showed the first signs of hope. Showing developers can at very least, make console RTS games worth the admission price.

Halo Wars and End War, will likely destroy the arguement completely.

Honestly with Halo it depends on the story, or where they go with it. I like Peter Jackson so I will look at Halo Chron, and Halo Wars looks great and I like Ensemble.

In a way you could say Halo is tired like Mario, if done right it is fine. However I do not want to see Halo Kart Racer, Super Halo World, Halo Smash Brawl, etc. Sorry Fernando, those games belong with Mario :)

If Halo Chronicles takes a Mass Effect twist I will be very interested, even if it is Master Chef.

I would for some odd reason be interested in a Halo MMO, the ringworld is huge, you have earth, just a lot you could do really. But then everyone would want to be a Spartan, and then you have to find a Holocron.. Sigh...

OMG! a 360 game with Live support and co-op to boot!

oh wait, thats like the main draw of the 360....the majority of Xbox games have this, i thought it was to be expected by now.
