Treading that thin red line between cheekiness and outright bragging, Infinity Ward – the top-of-their-game developer behind (most of) the
Call of Duty series – is once again extending the same
four-word message they shared with EA Chicago last November by way of its "Message of the Day" feature in
Call of Duty 4. Oh, but this time they're standing below
LucasArts' recently downsized balcony shouting: "Infinity Ward is hiring."

I actually wish Call of Duty 5 or 6 was a Star Wars version of Call of Duty. Would be pretty intense.
quickshade @ Jun 10th 2008 2:30PM
props to iw, have some humor, get some talent.
PojoMofo @ Jun 10th 2008 2:31PM
I dont get it, is IW sole purpose to rub their success in LA face??? Not cool.
RanWitScissorz @ Jun 10th 2008 2:34PM
Or maybe, they are in hopes of grabbing some of the laid off employees that worked for LucasArts that also play CoD4?
Lewis (GT: StoneRevolver) @ Jun 10th 2008 2:34PM
Very Cool indeed, actually.
mattclarkie @ Jun 10th 2008 2:37PM
I would expect that if you had just been sacked you would be sitting at home playing CoD4 all day.
Wife: Why don't you get off your fat arse and find another job.
Husband: Shut up you nagging bitch. I just found a job at Infinity Ward.
jsutcliffe @ Jun 10th 2008 2:45PM
Charming.
xFenixKnightx @ Jun 10th 2008 2:52PM

CTC XBL-supapaypamawio PSN-ctclaw @ Jun 10th 2008 3:07PM
You were wondering what it mean???? It doesn't seem to hard to understand...
Dravean @ Jun 10th 2008 2:54PM
Damn, they got some serious chutspa. Cool move.
Marty @ Jun 10th 2008 2:59PM
Are they based in the bay area too? Man... maybe I should update my resume. XD
markhill66 @ Jun 10th 2008 3:16PM
They did thisa couple of months ago, too, when another studio, I think a 2K one, shut down.
I really don't think they mean any ill will by it.
BPM [MKWii: 2578 3585 8392] @ Jun 10th 2008 3:49PM
Actually, it was to EA Chicago.

markhill66 @ Jun 10th 2008 7:33PM
Yeah, that sounds familiar. Sorry, short memory.
xFenixKnightx @ Jun 10th 2008 3:19PM
Pojo
This is a good thing. Helping others in time of need is good. IW = Good. K?
K.
PojoMofo @ Jun 10th 2008 3:28PM
its just kinda shady business tactics to actually send out an email to a competetor saying "hey come work for us" Nothing fundementally wrong with it, just not very classy
Martez @ Jun 10th 2008 3:37PM
They didn't send an email to a competitor. They put a message on their game aimed at ex-employees of a different developer.
PojoMofo @ Jun 10th 2008 3:52PM
oh crap, I completely misunderstood. Disregard my previous statements.
caustic @ Jun 10th 2008 3:29PM
how about they sell that ad space to other companies and then use the funds to distribute the next map pack free of charge?
Yahoo:
Google is hiring.

Geist @ Jun 10th 2008 3:48PM
But they are, haven't you heard? Oh wait PC only. Whoo!
Jhongerkong @ Jun 10th 2008 5:23PM
I sent an application for the position of "game tester". Qualification: Beat Contra without Konami code.
GetALifeWWFanboys @ Jun 10th 2008 7:16PM
Yay! Now the people who got fired for making crap Star Wars games can get jobs making the same WWII shooter over and over! (Yes, CoD5 is another WWII game!)
j.howlett @ Jun 10th 2008 9:41PM
the next COD will be set in WWII but i'm not sure it'll be a numbered sequel. what is for sure is the next COD to come out isn't from this company, IW, who are making this job offer. you want to complain to trayarch.
Drew @ Jun 10th 2008 10:15PM
dont get me wrong i like WWII games but i think the next step to cod is future warfare adding up with modern day events.... if trayarch is gonna make another WWII game it better be badass im holding them up to high standards....
Hatch @ Jun 11th 2008 10:02AM
