The (Big) Bosses of Metal Gear Solid
A hero's true worth lies in his ability to overcome the greatest of villains. Metal Gear Solid's slithery protagonist, Snake, has conquered not only the greatest of villains, but the weirdest mustache-twirlers gaming has ever seen.

When will we see some actual reviews of the game?
PojoMofo @ Jun 10th 2008 3:34PM
there are lots of reviews out, but there is an embargo until Thursday on some items
Vol @ Jun 10th 2008 3:40PM
Ooops.. I went to the wrong site. I went to Metareview.com instead of Metacritic.com. I knew better. Please ignore my original post.
PojoMofo @ Jun 10th 2008 3:36PM
Metacritic score is 93 out of 11 reviews so far (damn 80's)

It's criminal to give a MGS game below a 90. And, no Snake's Revenge is Metal Gear and it wasn't that bad.
tmacairjordan87 @ Jun 10th 2008 3:48PM
Yeah unfortunately it's most likely because of the backlash from all the GTA 10s. I've seen this happen a few times now to big games after highly rated games that cause a lot of backlash come out.

lazy paint by numbers style vector to canvas art...
ill trooper @ Jun 10th 2008 7:39PM
I totally agree, but I don't think it's real - a photoshop job, just a graphic generated for this post. I saw that and I first thought "jeez, weak... someone is getting over real easy with vectormagic.com and outputting gicle'e prints and calling it art." Then I decided it was only a photoshop mock-up.

Ding Ding Ding, a Winner is You!

I hope this doesn't get perfect 100s. It's almost the exact same gameplay from, say, MGS3:Subsistence, and if that, with the ridiculous amount of play options and replay value, can't get 100, then neither should this.
tmacairjordan87 @ Jun 10th 2008 4:04PM
You should really watch the gameplay videos posted on joystiq a few articles down and then come back and tell us the gameplay is the same as MGS3
Geist @ Jun 10th 2008 4:13PM
I have done what you asked and still see no difference. The only additions appear to be that of an active camo system (which is just MGS3's camo system, automated) and that robot, which looks like it'll only be of use in certain places.
Plus, wow, I hope things get less brown/yellow later in the game.

Psp bosses are missing, or do they suddenly have no importance ¬_¬
Ludwig Kietzmann @ Jun 11th 2008 3:41AM
Well, as these are the BIG bosses, we couldn't very well include the ones on PSP. Those were *tiny*.
ihateemo @ Jun 10th 2008 6:26PM
"sounding like a very posh Leonardo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."
Well of course, the same actor played Liquid and Leonardo. :)
unfriendly_cat @ Jun 10th 2008 8:37PM
Haven't played the Metal Gear games myself, but I have to admit those hummingbirds look menacing
somedude @ Jun 11th 2008 8:38AM
You guys forgot to mention Olga from MGS2!!
Ludwig Kietzmann @ Jun 11th 2008 2:14PM
Your statement is no longer true! :)
