We know that this doesn't go for everyone, but we really adored Dark Sector when we played it back in March. Now, just a couple of months after its release, you can finally get a taste of the glaive-tossing action without laying down any cash, thanks to the demo now available on Xbox Live.
The gameplay gets a touch stale toward the middle of the full game and it climaxes with the worst boss fight in recorded history, but we still think it's worth your time. Give the demo a spin (Get it? Like a glaive!) and let us know what you think.

I learned something the other day. My roommate was playing Dark Sector and told me that it sucked.
I said, "But Justin McElroy liked it..."
And all I got was a blank stare in return.

There are some haters, but this was actually a pretty solid game. It's actually pretty tight when the glaive becomes explosive.

I played through twice and I just let a friend borrow it. Its worth the time, and it get hated on because it isn't over hyped like "cough" Kane and Lynch "couch".

Im guessing this game didnt sell well, hence the reason a game that has been out for 2-3 months gets a demo

Yup PS3's been having this demo for a while. This is a very underrated game. I loved it. Played through it and beat it twice, once on normal then on Brutal. It's definitely a game you can rent and enjoy over the weekend. You'd be surprised IMO. Great visuals, sound effects, finishers. Good fun all around.

Way underrated game. Too bad this story didn't pop up a couple days later since I'm putting together a homemade trailer for the game right now.
I didn't even realize the demo was out on the PS3, I'll have to download it just to see what they chose for the demo level as I was just thinking the other day (I finished the game about a week ago) that it would be tough to put out a demo for this game since it doesn't really hit its stride until about a third of the way through the game, but by then you're past all the tutorials which really are pretty necessary for someone playing the first time.
So I'd assume they'd use a couple of the tutorial parts, only those parts are much more boring than the meat of the game (from the chatper 4 boss through the end of the game is awesome) so it'd leave a bad impression.

I dl'd the demo for my kids on PS3 and it starts on the 3rd level when you get to charge up your glaive and bust open locked gates where its raining. Then you go underground to the sewers with all the zombies. It's cool the way they did it because they do a little montage of what happened to you previously so you wont be totally out of the loop. With a couple of tweaks to the MP this game would have cought on IMO.

I downloaded Quake Wars instead and it isn’t bad but seriously I don’t know what is going on most of the time. Is not TF2 but it isn’t bad either for all MP junkies is not bad at all.

my only problem with quake is the weird frag noise when you kill someone ... it kinda sounds like a MS critical stop

I bought this game and was not disappointed. Its actually fun and the graphics are stunning. But I found the campaign too short though.

It was short indeed, doubt NG2 will have that problem. Man its awesome! It cracked Lives Top 10 which is nice. I knew the Battlefield BC demo would crack it also. The MP is really fun and way better than the Beta was.

Meh, I thought the length was about right, maybe a little on the long side. But then again, I prefer my 40-hour epics to stick to the RPG genre. After 10-12 hours an FPS (the single player at least) just tends to really wear on me, I'd actually rather have them around the 8-10 mark.

I got this game after managing to weasel a GS employee to swap it for the turd that was Army of Two. Sure, Dark Sector has its problems, but the glaive mechanic stays fun for the 8 or 9 hours that the game lasts.
The game itself has some issues and, um...interesting design choices, but all in all it's pretty solid. Chances are, if you like the demo, you should consider picking a used copy cheap up off of ebay or something (I just sold one for about $26 the other day.)

Well now that I played Dark Sector I will put it above Timeshift in the list of games I personally don't understand why the got such a low score until I get to play the full game.
Dark Sector isn't perfect but it's pretty neat.I mean the demo was cool.

Average? Call me Insane, but I loved this demo! This game is right down my alley! RE4 style controls. Duck and cover like Gears. Controlling where the boomarang goes. Watching it slice body parts. I like games with easy targetting. Exploration and third person controls. If anything bad company is average. Another boring FPS army game, bleh!

According to most reviews the game story isn't good and the gameplay is worst in the actual game.
In Demo the only thing that annoyed me was the way the character runs other than that everything was great. I don't get it. Same with Timeshift, the demo was awesome but it seems the full game isn’t that good.

Yet the same people gave low scores to the Darkness (Pure Epicness) because they didn't liked the story in areas where Halo got a 10 in everything so G4 tv can suck a cocksicle for all that I care.
Seriously a 4 to the darkness?! F*ck You G4 tv,f*ck you in the ear with a sandpaper condom.
I might rent Dark Sector,I liked the demo.

Excellent game, IMHO. I was very pleasantly surprised. However, I can see how it's not for everyone.
