Turokdidn't make so much a splash as a dull thud when it landed on consoles earlier this year, but that doesn't mean we don't still all love the idea of a Native American warrior killing dinosaurs. In fact, it's one of our all-time favorite premises, right after immortal guys trying to cut one another's heads off and Arnold Schwarzenegger being pregnant. That's why we're happy to hear that actor Adam Beach (who played the Son of Stone in the animated version previewed above) says that a live action version of the story is in the works.
"We just finished the animated movie and now we're going into the feature film movie [which should lens] hopefully in a couple years. We're about to set up meetings to develop a script and put it out there," Beach told MTV. Sounds great, but we just want to go on record: If the Cerebral Bore doesn't make an appearance, we're getting our tickets refunded.
While I do enjoy some of the work Mr. Beach has done in the past, I'm still dissapointed that he's sometimes seen as little more than the defacto "Comanche-lookin'-feller" for the typecasters of Hollywood.
Then again, we're talking about the Turok movie here, so maybe I shouldn't put too much thought into this.
Umm...does anyone else feel that the animation was a little "old" looking. I gues for somethign like this one would expect a more "anime" style and not something that looks like it belongs in the early 90's.
As for a live-action movie....here Hollywood goes again making B movies off of B games that undersell which will go on to have medicore box office sales/reviews again and appease critics of video game movies, and yet for some unknown reason won't support a Halo movie...
aside from king kong, there has never really been a dinosaur movie of good quality dinos other then Jurassic park.
I will be interested to see what this movie brings. I love dinosaurs and am dissapointed that JP is the only series (I still love the movies) that makes movies around them.
I own the animated movie. It's violent, and closer to the original COMIC BOOKS than the games. Thankfully.
But yeah, Turok is an old franchise from like 1954...
The science fiction space junk from the games was never a big part of the original comic series. I would rather prefer it if the live action film was closer to the comics and DIDN'T have any time travel, cereberal bores, or other superfluous stuff.
I don't need talking alien dinosaurs. That isn't really what Turok was about.
I do recall that Turok was quite, quite popular when it was first released back in 97 on the n64...hardly a B rating. I remember, when I was much younger, that everyone had n64 and Turok running in my town.
The recent Turok game for xbox 360 may be a B, but the original is arguable in the top 3 of best 90s gen console shooters (behind games like Goldenye).
It'd be interesting to see what they could do if they filmed it the way they filmed the movie 300.. it would definately make the recent "son of stone" animated movie a great live-action adaptation..
honestly i loved the story behind the animated movie too.. the fact that it was similar to the comics was nice..something i'd definately wait in line to buy tickets for.. that's what would be best as a first live action turok movie..
also another old comic they should make into a live action movie is cadillacs and dinosaurs.. the cartoon spinoff was even awesome for that

There should have been a movie when the series was still relevant.

Turok was relevant?

If they show Turok's origins, they should cast Zack Larez as a young version of Turok.
