Rumorong: Ready at Dawn not going Wii-exclusive

Malenfant further tells Joystiq that his company "[doesn't] have any Wii titles currently in development." RAD had previously hinted at plans to create games for current-gen consoles after finishing Okami Wii, and just today confirmed that it has two all-new games underway. So, two new games in development, none for Wii ... rumorong!

I'd be shocked if they aren't PS3-exclusive, at least for now. A small company like that that made two good games for a Sony console would surely find themselves on the receiving end of a tempting publishing deal from Sony.

Yeah, I fully agree with you there. Sony has been good to RAD and I wouldn't be surprised if they repeated that success yet again.

Seeing what they pulled off with PSP hardware, I'd like to see what they could do on one of the more brawny platforms.

"RAD had previously hinted at plans to create games for current-gen consoles"
That's all that needed to be said to supplement the title.
Man, trolling is FUN! Back to Brawl :ninja:

I wonder how people thought RAD was making only games for the Wii because some time ago RAD said there next next games would be for the PS3 and 360. Plus I thought they were working on three games two new ips one for the PS3 and the other one for the 360 and the last game was a new game in the Jak and Daxter series.

With the mess they made of Wii controls in Okami, i'm down with them staying away if they had to make something of their own, and weren't piggybacking on one of the best adventure games of the decade

The other 2 amazing games that they made more than make up for the mess that Okami Wii is (that is, if you have a PSP)

Nosh, have you even played the port? There are some issues with the nunchuk not being intuitive but once you've got dodging down the controls are hardly a mess. Funny thing is that the only people I've heard say the controls were bad were people who have yet to touch the port.

In that case, I guess gametrailers reviewers don't play the game before reviewing it, cause they mention control problems.

Yup. A 92 sure is a 'mess' of a port, right?

Wow Gamepro...perhaps you should read some interviews that developers give BEFORE writing BS?
Just a thought.

Seeing as you've already got experience of developing for PSP and working with Sony, would the PS3 definitely be your next-gen console of choice?
Not necessarily; again, it all depends on the project. It could be PS3 or 360 or both. If we find a game we're excited about and it happens to be on 360, we'll go for it. We just work with what the platform's capable of and get the most out of it rather than focusing on limitations.

"We've got the third version of the Ready at Dawn Engine running on both the PS3 and the 360. We had to make sure we had the tech all set up to start our next projects. The most obvious benefit is processing power. Just like on the PSP when we finally got access to the 333Mhz clock speed, our engine is entirely scaleable so we can just crank up a few dials and start using all that extra power. So what I'm most excited about is seeing what our artists here will do with all this. If you see what they did on PSP it's easy to imagine that it's going to be quite something.
"I'm also excited about online distribution on both these platforms because that's how I like to get all my media now, not just games. On the Wii, having just finished the port of Okami on that platform, I'd love to see what our tech could do on it too. I think people are so focused on the controls that we don't get to see what the console is really capable of graphically. It would be awesome to have both.
"We have no plans to develop games on the DS at the moment," he added. "As always, we never say never, but we'd have to have something that's a good fit for the platform and our ideas right now aren't really achievable on the DS."
