Wii Fanboy Weekly: June 5 - June 11
Before you question how you're able to read Shigeru Miyamoto's thoughts (let alone visualize them in a speech bubble in clear, easy-to-read text), we would like to ask you about your thoughts on Wii Fit? Do you have it? Want it, but can't find it? The latter story seems to be the one most can identify with right now, so we figured we'd compile a list of some alternatives, which consist of past combinations of gaming and exercise (exergaming, if you will), along with a little bit of our own flair tossed in.

How about bought two copies, sold one on eBay for $140 to offset the cost of the one I kept.

Just got it. I must say, after only 30 minutes, I had broken a sweat. If you use it right, it seems to be a nice little way to get some extra exercise. Naysayers be damned.

I got one on release day and use it pretty much everyday. The main thing I really was interested in with the software were the Yoga exercises and for a beginner, I think it's great. The strength training exercises are a little on the easy side, but with unlocked added repetitions I think they really do help with toning, but not really building strength. The "games" for the balance and aerobic portions are fun for what they are, but IMO tend to get old and I really don't use them (except for the shadow boxing. I think it's superb). My only gripe is the lack of any program to work specific areas or create pinpoint goals. So overall, for someone that's not very active I think it's a great tool for someone to get their feet wet with exercise. For people that are already pretty active, it will certainly help with maintenance and add a little variety in day to day exercise activities.

I love it. I think anyone recovering from a leg injury - broken ankle, knee operation etc - should use it to speed recovery. It's so good it should be available on your health insurance plan, see my blog post: http://blog.diverdiver.com/2008/06/keep-on-running.html
