Classic Media developing Turok film, not Disney
Variety reports that the live-action Turok movie is not being handled by Disney, which publishes the video game series through its Touchstone Pictures label. Instead, the film rights are being handled by Classic Media, the same IP management firm that handled the direct-to-DVD Turok animated film.
What does this mean for the dinosaur hunter's big-screen debut? Variety's Ben Fritz warns us that without the backing of a major studio like Disney, it's likely that Turok won't be on par with major film adaptations like the upcoming Prince of Persia and BioShock flicks. Let's just keep it out of the hands of Uwe Boll, shall we?

Why in the world would Disney be producing this movie? And who actually believed that?
In other news, Disney is working on the Manhunt movie.

They own the company who made the new Turok game.

Yeah, exactly. One could say that Disney made Kill Bill.

Does it really matter?????

An indie budget might just save this from being awful.

I have to agree, a low budget might save the film. Large budgets sometimes allow filmmakers to be lazy, as if they say "we'll make up for it with special effects." A lot of cool tricks come out of low budgets.

Does anyone want a Turok movie?
I didn't play the game solely because of the recommendation from a friend of mine that the game BLOWS MONKEY CHUNKS.

What is it about this stupid franchise that keeps it around?
Seriously, the very first Turok game back in 1980 or whenever it came out was OKAY, every sequel since has totally stunk.
Why???
