Metal Gear Solid 4 Limited Edition: The Unboxing
25
For those who didn't pick up the US Metal Gear Solid 4 Limited Edition, we've got a gallery of what you're missing. It's not much, and it's certainly a downer to note that this edition doesn't include a Solid Snake figurine. We'll add those pics when our European correspondents put their controller down long enough to grab a camera.
Snake? Snaaaake? SNAAAAAAKE! Check out our Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots page for all things Metal Gear.

Looks pretty nice to me, better than most special editions.

Idk $85 just for a Blu-Ray and a better looking box. I'm sorry but for a game as anticipated as MGS4 Konami could have came up with a better LE. It's a shame that a game like Bioshock(A brand new IP) can come out with an extraordinary(5" Figure, Soundtrack Ep, Special Features DVD) for just $70...and a HUGE game like MGS4 only has a bonus disc...come on.
I'm disappointed with Konami($35 more for something they could've fit on the disc). Usually a sucker for these special editions now that they've become the new trend in gaming but if your charging more then $20 above the regular version there better be some gameplay elements added.
Sorry but IMO it's WORST than most Special Edition,Limited Editions, etc

Agreed with the above. I thought for 85$$$ I was getting something more. My Gamestop called off their mid night release so I am waiting till morning to make the pick up. I am most likely going to try and switch my pre-order to a regular edition. There is nothing for that price I'd consider special about the limited.
Good time to level up to the rumble controller I guess. I'll trade in my controller and take the money I would of spent and put it towards a one.

Wait @ Untouchable...
Since when did 85 - 60 = 35?
O_o
oh, and btw...I just got off of a 6 and a half hour MGS marathon..but my eyes are about to close.
6 and a half hours and I just reached the first boss. She kicked my fucking ass so I quit and I'll be on her head first thing when I wake up.
But all I can say in regards to the game is wow.
That is all.

I was more disappointed with the actual game case. It should have Shinkawa's artwork as well, instead of the normal CG Old Snake face.
Looks like I'll have to try and find a UK cover and trade; the Terminator-esque theme it has is awesome.

I am playing MGS 4 as we speak and it is off the fucking chain my man!!!
Resistance is a great FPS ... Other great titles I would reccomend ...
Gran Turismo prologue
Uncharted
Heavenly Sword
Hot Shots Golf Out Of Bounds
Warhawk (incredible but online only)
Ratchet And Clank Future
Unreal Tournament III
Folklore
MLB 08 the Show
Those are my favorites (exclusives) for sure just depends what games you like ... Obviously tons of great multiplatform titles as well if you don't have them on your 360 ... Haze and Lair get a lot of bad press but I have them both and have enjoyed them both ... Maybe a couple of good rentals ... Ninja Gaiden Sigma is another good one but its just Ninja Gaiden Black prettied up ... You can also get Tekken Dark Ressurection on the PSN if you like fighters (with online play)
There are some good PSN titles like Pain, Flow, Everyday Shooter, Calling all cars & especially Pixel Junk monsters ... Thats about it for exclusives that I can think of now

This is the greatest video game I have ever played in my life ... Maybe until Fallout 3 but this game is truly an incredible experience for any gamer or PS3 owner

Wait what? The game is an awkward shoehorning of the same old MGS1 gameplay with CoD4 and GoW style shootout action bits, with way too many cutscenes.
Unlike you I had high expectations of this game and it's a crying shame it fell so hard, so flat on its face. But we're used to turdy sequels now since originality is long gone.

So it's gears of war but with a story that's actually amazing and not half-heartedly tossed in? AWESOME. I fail to see the problem here.

Uncharted
Ratchet & Clank Future
Burnout:Paradise (unless you have it on 360)
GT5P
Hot Shots Golf Out of Bounds
Heavenly Sword (get it used, it's good but short)
I hear Warhawk is good, but I don't play many all-online games.
I like Resistance, but not at full price. It's great online, but the offline game gets old long before you finish the game.
Lair and Haze: stay away.
As for games you buy from the online store, I recommend Super Stardust HD and PixelJunk Monsters. Everyday Shooter is okay. Skip Fl0w. GT5P is available online, but I bought it on disc from CostCo cheaper than the online price.

Anyone saying the $85 is too much for an LE that includes a soundtrack clearly does not purchase VG soundtracks on a regular basis. The game itself is $60, and typically a VG soundtrack runs from $15 up to $25. If its the full soundtrack, your getting your full value in my eyes. Plus an art book and special features, that right there justifies the price after considering the soundtrack. The only thing that would invalidate this for me is if the soundtrack is limited in some way. Anyway, picking this up after work this evening, really excited.

Ross Miller no art book? Did you get it from Gamestop? I did not get one either. Gamestop said you would get a free art book at the time of purchase. The artbook was the tipping point for me to drop 85 dollars no I feel robbed.
I preorderd MGS4 long time ago. I was one of the first to get the beta codes for MGO and I still got no damn artbook. I'm calling gamestop when they open because this is false advertising and if they wont fix this I'm calling Konami.

I'm no fan of MGS but I have to say I LOVE the idea that you get a regular game case inside the special edition case. For those of us who want all our games to fit together nicely on the shelf this is ideal.
There are many SEs on 360 I would buy (love documentary DVDs), but won't because I want the standard sized case and they're too cheap to give it to you in the box.
I especially HATE when they give you the crappy cardboard with plastic hubs stuck on it design... like GoW. What is that crap, I paid extra for this???
So this looks nice to me.

Does anyone know if with this box set, the MGS4 game case itself is still individually shrink wrapped inside or is it opened already? Same with the documentary / soundtrack disk?
