For those who aren't busy sneaking around or being a ninja, Nintendo Wii Fanboy has manage to nab over a dozen exclusive pics from High Voltage's upcoming Wii first-person shooter The Conduit. The images do not fail to impress us – this is a pretty looking game, especially for the Wii. The Conduit, still currently without a publisher, is due out in Q1 2009.

It doesn't embiggen though.. it just shows a mis-sized, pixelated mess. Sort out your galleries joystiq!

It's good to see a 3rd party game come to the Wii with good graphics. I popped in Red Steel a couple of weeks ago and was amazed at how bad 4 player looked. It seriously looked worse then 007:Goldeneye.

It's sad that the Wii graphics are equated with low quality when games like RE4 show otherwise (even on the GameCube). If only companies would put effort into their Wii games instead of trying to make a quick buck off of popularity.

They suffer from the Metroid Prime 3 syndrome. Remember this screenshots and this thread?

And Metroid Prime 3 is a very good looking game. We need to see some videos.

In the immortal words of Fernando Rocker, The Conduit looks like a generic shooter.

To give them some credit, they're pretty much only done licensed work and sports games. So, this could be their first break out title to truly shine.
But... we'll have to see how the final product turns out.

Yea and what did Bungie do before Halo?
Don't count this game out so quickly. Even if it is a "generic shooter" as people claim (Although they know nothing!) the wii is in dire need of a multiplayer FPS. I have high hopes for the game.

Bungie did marathon and the myth series. Plus Oni and a few other games. Bungie were a very highly rated company before halo... and thats why people were so excited originally about halo (when it was a mac game).

I will need to reserver judgement until I see it in person. I got totally suckered into buying Red Steel. Waste O' Money.

Red Steel sucks, mainly because the controls. It was the first attempt for a FPS on Wii.
The biggest mistake was to make the bounding box almost of the entire size of the screen.

It looks like it has potential. But, so did Red Steel.
I'm awaiting some hands-on impresssions and reviews to see if this game can deliver on its potential.

I think it's only a fair comparison, Co.
Not only are they both first-person games, but both promised a lot for the Wii. How they would revolutionize the genre on the system.
Red Steel was muddled down with poor controls, weak graphics, and game-stopping bugs. It fell quite short of its promise.
Now, with a few games showing HOW YOU DO FPS ON Wii (MP3, MoHH2), Conduit has no excuse to have poor controls.
These images show pretty good visuals for a Wii title, but they may very well be bullshots.
As for bugs... We'll only know that when we play it.
High Voltage seems pretty enthusiastic for the Wii, releasing several original titles for the system (Conduit as a retail game, and Gyrostarr and ¡Animales de la Muerte! for WiiWare), so hopefully that enthusiasm will result in quality games for the system.

BPM, you can in NO way compare this to Red Steel. For starters, this game already looks better than Red Steel just from the screenshots and we all know that all games look better IRL compared to screeshots. Secondly, Metroid Prime 3 has already been released, proving that the Wii can controls FPS games better than dual-analog and far better than Red Steel, so The Conduit is going to get the controls right straight off the bat. So we've got potentially better graphics than the spectacular Metroid Prime 3 with equivalent controls. Comparing this to Red Steel is just bollocks.
Im sick of the fucktards coming to this site and bagging out The Conduit cause it doesnt look as good as say Halo 3. Negative feedback like that will only push publishers away from publishing this game and developers away from making future hardcore Wii games. You all complain about the lack of hardcore Wii titles, then bag them out once they do trickle through. WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO PLEASE YOU MORONS!

Hey, Foetoid. I'm pro-Wii, man.
I'm just saying that right now is a good time to be critical. We still don't know a lot about the Conduit yet. It could be good, or it could be bad.
I've said that I'm glad that High Voltage is enthusiastic about the Wii. They're showing promise. But given their development history, I'm worried whether or not they can deliver on that promise.

Foetoid-
All I'm saying is, a lot of people (or maybe just me) got pretty excited about the screenshots of Red Steel, and I think we agree the game sucked. So far, screenshots are all we've got to compare the two.
By your reasoning, every platformer after SMB3 should have perfect controls, right, cause they did it before?? I wish every developer just added awesome on top of other good games, but that's not always the way it works.

I liked Red Steel. yes it was full of glitches and not extremely beautiful and kinda hard to control at first. But I really did like the experience.
I would also get part 2.
On topic:
I hope this game is good.
