The mere fact they put Diablo and this shitty game in the same sentence makes me sick.

Side note D2 on xbla would be sweet...can't imagine the controls tho...

I've played the Diablo franchise for years and I'll tell you it isn't possible to port Diablo to the xbox live until we get a Mouse and a keyboard otherwise it would be a disgrace just like the PS version of Diablo 1.

Basically he'd love for this game to be as good as games that are (arguably) the best in their genres. It takes some balls to claim you think your game will be THE BEST when clearly there is a 0% chance of that happening.

Oh, and if only the XBLA didn't have that ridiculous file size limit, maybe we could get some Diablo II XBLA love =p oh well. I don't think silks of the victor would look very good in 720p anyway.

I think I said it wrong. It was from some Chappelle skit where he said, "We shouldve never gave those N%#%#%$ money!"
Very un politically correct joke. But what can you do.

Bottom line is, why they would even make a sequel after that first crap game is beyond me. 50 Pennies has no business in video games. Hell, he has no business in music either. He'd be better off trying to educate himself and doing something that is actually good for society. Not starting fires, shooting guns, and creating filthy music that tramp, white hoes listen to.

Using the word "un politically correct" makes you look like a clown, regardless. You sound terribly suburban. Get out and talk to more people outside of your social circle.

I live in a suburban place now and trust me I LOVE it. There are specific reasons for that and I dont think I need to get into them because we all know.
And I am very aware of and spent time in non-suburban areas, which is why I am much happier to live here. In fact, I just got back from a work trip to Puerto Rico. Anytime I visit a run down or ghetto like area, it makes me appreciate more.
Im not racist, but there are many aspects of other races culture/lives that I dont like at all. I have no problems with someone because of their color. I do have problems with people who live/act a certain way that obviously doesnt do this world, our country, and our neighborhoods any good.

I understand your comments but I hope you realize that these people you speak of and their actions are not necessarily a product of their race but of economic status. This country is slowly being divided into the haves and the have nots.

Wait... what exactly did Burnout do for the racing genre? I don't recall any paradigm shifts in the genre after Burnout came out... not even after Burnout 3, the first game in the series that was decent... So his hope is that this game won't affect the shooting genre much at all? I can actually see that being the case...

I think Burnout is its own genera (Unless you count Flatout) since it didn’t change any other game. Is awesome and to be honest I rather play Burnout than Need for speed of Forza 2 since Need for speed nowadays isn’t what it used to be and other Arcade racing games require some skill. Games like Forza 2 to GTR are just plain hard and frustrating since they require a superb concentration level and memorization of every track.

So in your opinion then Burnout did even less for the racing genre than I thought it did! If this guy's comparisons are accurate, this game is doomed.

No because they are referring to the fact that the games are chaotic and don't take themselves seriously. If you've ever played Black you would know it takes itself very seriously.

On the subject of Stranglehold... man that game rocked. It was a fantastic experience.

DIABLO II with battle net on the 360 would sell like lemoned aid on a hot summer day with the only thing to drink being goats piss or lemoned aid and your not drinking piss unless your that bear guy from man vs wild.

I'm going to go even more old school here and say that Serious Sam already did over-the-top shooter. Were the graphics cutting edge? No. Was there a story beyond "kill everything"? Barely. Ask yourself, though, what other game had suicide bomber enemies? With no heads and bombs for hands? And 4 player co-op? Serious Sam boiled the FPS down to its very essence. None of this "strategy", none of this "storytelling". Point your gun at something, kill it.

"He adds further that he wants the game to do, "What Diablo did for RPGs".

You sir just firmed your sentence to death as a developer. May I remind you are doing a game about effing 50 cent in effing Middle East? Maybe you know Diablo checking the biggest games of all time list in wiki because if you had ever played Diablo you would know nothing ever will be as awesome as the Diablo franchise even Blizzard and Diablo developers know that.

Oh sweet merciful zeus that would be the greatest thing ever. Actually if they released a port with online on arcade I could handle not knowing when we'll ever get Diablo 3. Although I think this is theoretically impossible since Diablo II was nearly 2gigs. Even if they cut out all the cinemas and with the new compression techniques I don't think this could happen. Maybe a port that just has online play? That could be a bit more possible...although they would have to create an entire new way to control the game.

I'm sorry but while I love Diablo and Diablo II: When did those become RPGs? Not everything they put in the middle ages or some kind of fantasy world automatically turns into an RPG. Just put Diablo and Final Fantasy side to side and tell me it's the same genre.

Diablo II would be considered an action RPG, while FF an RPG. Both games you character levels up, and you in turn get better gear with better stats. Actually you could consider Final Fantasy XI just Diablo II but in 3D. Same can be said about World of Warcraft. And if you never played one of those how about Oblivion.

they are RPG's in the same way Fable is an RPG or Mass Effect is an RPG, not all RPG's have turn based combat or japanese style artwork.

Sorry, I hit submit too soon but also.

The RPG Vault has posted a nice article by Blizzard North founder and Diablo creator Max Schaefer, in which he discusses what makes an RPG, an ARPG, and where Diablo fit into that metric.

"I was fortunate enough to work on all the games in the Diablo series, a title that is today most commonly considered an action RPG. The arguments about how to classify it were strangely heated, with some people insisting that it was a full-fledged RPG, and others who refused to accept that it was an action RPG... or even that such a category was valid.

Our goal in making Diablo was to bring the rich world of RPGs to audiences that were less stat-obsessed and intense, and that craved more visceral entertainment. We wanted to de-nerdify RPGs. To us, what was great about the genre, what made the D&D sessions we all had when we were kids so fun, was the vivid image that you'd be in a dungeon, face to face with an evil animated skeleton king, armed with a kick-*** mace, ready for battle."

Thing is, my definition of an RPG would include an epic storyline. Thus, MMOs are MMOs, not RPGs since MMOs hardly have any in-game story at all. Diablo has a very simplistic one (just like other Roguelikes) that is miles away from that of titles like Oblivion, Mass Effect or even some modern RTS.
Diablo takes the RPG formula and simplifies it to a point where it hardly is an RPG anymore.

No music artists as stars in video games, same goes for any celebrity. We don't need the tabloid reading filth infesting our already terrible polluted Xbox Live experience. I can’t believe the industry would do this to itself. We already have so many other hurdles to overcome without trying to kill ourselves.

People will hate on this game before it is released just because "50" is involved. His first game wasn't the best, but besides for that he has been succesfull in everything else that he has done, wether it's music, movies, clothes or to quote 50 "selling quarter water for 2 bucks" which equals "vitamin water". So at this point I am pretty sure he knows what errors he made with the first one. Btw...I didn't like his first game that much (nor did I purchase it), but it wasn't a flop by any stretch of the imagination. So only a fool wouldn't want to get 50 back on board to try it again.

I hope you realize the guy sells his name and then pisses off, i doubt hugely he has any involvement with these products.

He slaps his name on it and then tools buy it cause it's "teh 50 gangstaa" that's why the first one sold, casuals buy this shit all the time.

Have you even seen who is developing this game? Swordfish Studios - who's stellar history includes such epics as World Championship Rugby, and Brian Lara International Cricket 2005. Sure, the scripted cutscenes that they released for this game look fun, but if the game is anything other than an amateur, nightmarish, mess, i'll eat my own face.
