Awesome! Great band, guaranteed fun for faux Drummers and Bassists!
Totally getting this when I get my 360 back :D
NoHitHair @ Jun 13th 2008 7:51AM
I know - I'm stoked. "Wave of Mutilation" is one of the best songs to play on Rock Band, hands down. It's just so much fun with any instrument.
ChooChooCharlie (MK 0430-8740-2222) @ Jun 13th 2008 12:45PM
Actually, I think that Wave of Mutilation is one of the most boring songs to play in Rock Band (the extremely simple guitar solo in particular). I'm not bashing - just the opinion of an impartial judge. I've had several friends tell me how great The Pixies are too, so I was quite disappointed. But I'd still like to check out the note charts for this album to see if these songs are better.
Hopefully this album will live up to their reputation (I've never really listened to them before - so now I'll have to watch all these youtube vids).
NoHitHair @ Jun 13th 2008 5:46PM
...who designated you an "impartial judge"?
ChooChooCharlie (MK 0430-8740-2222) @ Jun 13th 2008 7:45PM
I did, because, as of that post I had no opinion on The Pixies. I had only heard the one song - so I wasn't of the opinion that the band as a whole was good or bad. I was making a comment on the song itself and not a blanket statement about all of their work.
Stevo @ Jun 13th 2008 7:29AM
I love Rock band and I love this album even more...but that $19 Price Tag for the whole pack of songs (although there's 14) seems a bit high...oh well
Shagittarius @ Jun 13th 2008 11:09AM
Get a job hippie!
vidGuy @ Jun 13th 2008 7:32AM
I wish they would just pick a price for the full albums and leave it. I know that not all albums are created equal - in neither the number of tracks nor their quality - but if this album is nearly $20 I'd hate to see what some longer albums would be. Would a double album be 3200?
goboColossus (LIVE, PSN - gobopop) @ Jun 13th 2008 7:35AM
Jethro Tull's "A Passion Play," song or album - 160 MS Points.
45 minutes of pure finger blistering hell/fun!
zero2dash @ Jun 13th 2008 11:43AM
Amen to that. $15 an album is a fair price no matter who it is, how long it is, or how many tracks are on it.
I'm not a fan of a $4 increase on this one. I suppose if something came out that I really really really wanted (Nirvana - Nevermind, Pearl Jam - Ten, At the Drive-In - Relationship of Command, Refused - The Shape of Punk to Come) I'd be willing to pay a little more. But yes, they should absolutely pick a price and stick to it.
I expect gas prices to fluctuate; not DLC.
That Fuzzy Bastard @ Jun 13th 2008 12:56PM
I think the price variation makes perfect sense! An album with 10 songs should cost less than an album with 15!
zero2dash @ Jun 13th 2008 4:22PM
CD prices are baseline; they do not change based on the number of tracks or the length of the cd therefore why should mp3s on Xbox Live be any different?
Dishwasher @ Jun 13th 2008 7:40AM
Wow I have been putting off buying rock band for a long time but now I REALLY want it with this album on there.
Travis @ Jun 13th 2008 7:45AM

McWeen @ Jun 13th 2008 8:07AM
Awesome.
Is it possible to pick an album in the game and just play the whole thing in the correct track order?
goboColossus (LIVE, PSN - gobopop) @ Jun 13th 2008 8:13AM
Closest you can get is to organize by Band and after every song select the next one alphabetically from the list.
I wish they'd add a feature like this, go into BWT or BQP Online and have a full 5-20 song setlist / playlist picked out with minimal loading between songs. If only - so many of those with Rock Band! :( :D
baby sea tuna @ Jun 13th 2008 8:15AM
As long as you know the track order, you can just play them as such.
McWeen @ Jun 13th 2008 8:20AM
I know that you can select them in order if you know the order but it should have an option to make the game do that for you. It would immerse the player more and seems to be the whole point of buying an entire album in the first place.
baby sea tuna @ Jun 13th 2008 8:25AM
Yeah, I wasn't giving HMX a free pass or anything, I was just trying to share an obvious workaround. Since full albums (though announced at launch) weren't a standard, I guess they didn't have the infrastructure firmly in place when they built the game. Hopefully that'll be rectified via a patch or (worst case scenario) a sequel.
wait in the car @ Jun 13th 2008 8:10AM
This may have just decided whether I was going to wait and see everything Guitar Hero IV had to offer before buying one of the two.
And if the ground's not cold, everything is gonna burn. We'll all take turns. I'll get mine too.
baby sea tuna @ Jun 13th 2008 8:18AM
This is the album that got me out of classic rock and hair metal and into post-punk/indie rock. Maybe it'll be able to do the same for Fernando.
How about it buddy? You don't have to stop listening to the longhairs to enjoy it...
Shagittarius @ Jun 13th 2008 11:12AM
"Maybe it'll be able to do the same for Fernando."
Didn't you hear? Journey just released a new album. Its too late for Fernando expand his musical pallette now.
AJB @ Jun 13th 2008 8:28AM
wow . . . great album! $19 is a bit steep, though.
KEFIOX @ Jun 13th 2008 8:49AM
Somehow I knew this was coming next week. I have been listening to this album for the past two weeks trying to get into it, to see why so many people like it but I just can't. And with a $19 price tag for 14 songs that are approx. two minutes each...no. I figured they would just make all the songs $1 each and have the album at the normal $15 or something like that. Anyways with that said I prolly won't be picking up this album (watch me pick it up anyway).
bearxor @ Jun 13th 2008 8:55AM
Pass. Just don't dig the style, sounds like for fans it'll be fun to play though.
This will be the third week in a row I haven't bought Rock Band tracks. A new record for me!
Domingoakasunday @ Jun 13th 2008 9:23AM
I would still like to see the ability to change out DLC tracks for game tracks of equal difficulty levels.
RavenPaul @ Jun 13th 2008 9:38AM
Yeah, no tracks bought for me in a while either. No way I'd buy this. "Wave" is ok, but it's the only song I like by them.
Alisha Karabinus @ Jun 13th 2008 9:51AM
Best. DLC. Ever.
Eric Strunk @ Jun 13th 2008 1:16PM
Most. ACCURATE. Comment. Ever.
mitch @ Jun 13th 2008 10:43AM
Anyone who doesn't like this band, and this album, are freakin' crazy. One of the greatest of all time. And I've got Kurt Kobain, David Bowie, Bono, and more on my side ;)
mitch @ Jun 13th 2008 10:46AM
definitely a "studio band" though, yikes. Crackity Jones, FTW.
Shagittarius @ Jun 13th 2008 11:14AM

mietha CAG @ Jun 13th 2008 3:28PM
Fuck me, now I have to spend $20 on a fucking rock band download.
ManekiNeko @ Jun 14th 2008 12:23AM
Oh hey, it's those guys who sound like Weezer. Or is it the other way around...?
Lebowski26 @ Jun 14th 2008 2:30PM
Like Weezer?? You don't listen to Pixies much, huh?
One of the greatest bands of all time...can't wait to d/l this on Tuesday. Gives me a reason to dust off my Rock Band gear.
Jawknee @ Jun 14th 2008 11:59PM
What on earth are you talking about? Pixies preceded Weezer by 7 years man; besides that they sound nothing like them.
OTAM @ Jun 14th 2008 2:38PM
GDit,this game has been out 6 months and still no more metal? No more Iron Maiden,Megadeth,Motorhead,Sabbath, etc? What gives?
Jawknee @ Jun 14th 2008 11:59PM
'Chasing images... he perceives in his head!'
Not my favorite album (Bossanova), but still great
FSK405K @ Jun 15th 2008 12:31PM
Are any of these songs three minutes or longer? What's the longest?
