Although we're sure plenty of Europeans have already pirated Sins of a Solar Empire -- and really, we can't blame you -- the game officially launches in the UK today. The surprise PC hit will cost £30 in the UK and, although the press release speaks about the "European retail box," we can't seem to currently find a release date or price for the rest of the continent.
Sins of a Solar Empire has no disc copy-protection, but supports those who purchased a copy with patches, which have greatly improved the game since launch. UK gamers who got the game through nefarious means, please feel free to support this excellent strategy game with a retail purchase. You want a Sins of a Solar Empire 2, don't you?

couldn't people just upload the patches and stuff to websites like filefront and game spy etc?

Why would I have pirated the game when I can just download it through their online service or import it from their site? There are tons of Europeans already playing this game.

Came to say the exact same thing.
This game has been available worldwide for months and months direct from Stardock. $44.95 for the direct download only version, which is around £23, so it's cheaper too. For a couple of dollars more you can even get yourself the boxed copy, if you want.
Forget Sins of a Solar Empire 2, buy it direct from Stardock and support companies that don't burden everyone with onerous DRM schemes. If Sins continues to sell well via Stardock - it has so far - then an expansion or sequel is more likely and it will more likely not have copy protection again so it's a win all round.

Looks cool. I wish there were more space-based games--particularly action/rpg space-based games.

That game is well worth the money**
**Caveat, you must like 4X games with a hint of Masters of Orion, just not as annoying

The mods and the lack of a hard coded unit cap make the game worth it.

I played this game and began to enojy it, until I hit a brick wall. How do you utilize wormholes to move solar systems? Trust me, I'm no noob, but I couldn't find it anywhere in the manual, nowhere on forums and I just gave up.
