@Silly Old Pooh

"I just don't have my head up any-company-related-to-this-game's arse unlike the above posters."

Maybe not, but you do have your head up your own ass.

That's it! No more friggin' space alien shooters! Why should I, a person who has played games with the immense depth of Bioshock and Mass Effect, be interested? Nathan Hale doesn't seem very interesting, even with his "internal issues" and an arbitrary 19-hour deathclock. Oh, please tell me I also have amnesia and get to complete block-pushing puzzles, cuz I need a little more cliche in my games.

Maybe, just *maybe* you should care because you enjoy FPS gameplay? No?

I'll play any so-called 'mediocre' or 'generic' game just because I still enjoy gaming, what's so wrong with simply enjoying games, new gameplay or not?

Sports, that's somethign we should bitch about, not enough variety with rules, all the same boring shit over and over.

Also, Halo 3 get's called generic yet I can identify it quite easily among all other modern games, ya know, because it has colourf.....lolz.

Immense depth of BioShock?

It was a standard card-key hunt. With only about 4 types of enemies in 12 hours of play.

Yeah, it had a story to go with it (few FPSes do), but even that story was overrated. It is really pretty though, it has fantastic art direction.

But I would think the main draw for games like Resistance 2 is multiplayer, which is something BioShock can't compete on at all.

Mass Effect has a ton more story and a lot more depth, but it's a different kind of game.

When I think of Bioshock, the term "immense depth" doesn't even cross my mind.

Wait, someone just dropped the amnesia complaint AND threw Bioshock up on a high horse?

Microswirl, did you COMPLETE Bioshock?

@tmacairjordan87

Bioshock takes place at the bottom of the ocean. That's what he meant by "immensely deep".

@Fidlious
He was brainwashed. That's different (although ALSO a cliche) from having your standard run-of-the-mill amnesia. The amazing art style and unique setting more than make up for anything in the story that might make you roll your eyes. Anyways, diss Bioshock all you want; it got Game of the Year from several publications for a reason and it did so without falling back on a space marine setting.

@Lekko
That, sir, was puntastic! +1

Looks quite tantalizing to say the least. I like the hordes, they look insane.

Obviously I haven't played the original, as no-one had a ps3 back then ;-) , but the setting always intrigued me... the combination of a british setting (not often used), the time period and sci-fi seemed a nice change from the overused settings of the genre.

This one moves to the US right? Shame...

I really did not like the first Resistance, but the co-op and massive online options have me intruiged, plus I did enjoy the concept of the series. I'm not letting myself get excited for it, but I hope it's good. If not, at least Insomniac has that rumored(?) Ratchet and Clank expansion on the horizon.

The first Resistance was a very good game in my opinion in terms of the actual gameplay mechanics. I am not a huge fan of the humans vs aliens but I thought it was done better than Gears and the locust. I am not that excited about the second game but I will keep an open mind until more information trickles out as we get closer to its release date. I just hope that the story continues to evolve into something more than humans vs aliens. I like the internal struggle that Nathan Hale is having in the second game. It gives me a reason to be emotionally involved about the character and in turn the game.
