This is why Nintendo rules the roost now.

Check out the smiles on those hot chicks.

Try giving them Halo 3 or Metal Gear Solid 4. They would drop the controller and tell you to go suck an egg.

They're also the same company that gave us LoZ:TP, Super Mario Galaxy, MP:3, and Brawl (plus a few other noteworthy titles) in a timeframe of little over two years.

They may have shifted their focus (more than even I'd like, admittedly) but they're still pumping out the good games, and at a higher quality than before (with TP being the exception in my opinion).

I like how adding a 2.0 gives a banned account a free pass to do exactly what got them banned in the first place again.

Goes to show that the Wii remote is so unpredictable with its motion sensing, that a person who never played the system before can win a tournament.

Don't get me wrong, I like a little of Wii games. But a lot of games such as Wii Sports Boxing can be a case of the winner being the one who twists their wrist the most.

Did you consider that the other people in the tournament might also have had no experience with a Wii?

I felt the same way about Wii Sports boxing until i tried the various training regimens they put in the game for boxing. Once i mastered the punching bag, dodging, and precision punching, i just kick all kinds of ass, and do so intentionally

Way to go Nintendo. That girl was obviously SO excited about winning her very own Wii after never playing it before that SHE IMMEDIATELY GAVE IT AWAY. Way to really excite new customers.

Also, velocitystrike, the article distinctly mentions that the winner did not ever play with it before UNLIKE her victim, the loser in blue, who said it was a workout.

Fat load of good it did. Wii-Flailing, FTW.

I was disappointed after reading the title. I was expecting one of them gals to go nuts over her loss and try and beat the shit out of the others or something. Joystiq has set up a mighty trap for me.

Same here. I was looking for something about a cat fight and how the police were called. Very disappointing Joystiq.

ha ha! That's what I thought I was going to be reading about, too! But the story ended really lame. However, I would've loved to have a tourney like that here! That would be fun to kick the crap out of someone in front of everyone! I'll use my Punch-Out skills that I perfected back in the day.

Why is it that every time there's a picture on Joystiq of a woman that isn't completely hideous we get a chorus of "I'd hit that!"?
The sad part is that the guys spouting said line probably have only the slightest clue as to what "hitting it" actually entails.
In case you were wondering, this is why gamers are perceived as sexually-inept basement-dwellers.

It's not that we're gamers, but that the dwellers at this site are stereotypically male

I'm sure you would get that anywhere the vast majority of the posters are male. The only thing that is "reprehensible" is the lack of gender diversity

Also, i'd totally hit that

I'm a straight male, and I find no desire to spout off about if a woman is "hittable". Yeah, they're both decent looking women.

Do you think if they came here and found several people commenting on how they'd like to have sex with them, that would make them have a positive stereotype of what the gaming male is like as opposed to the current working stereotype? (i.e. "undateable", and "lonely".)

Girls playing games = cool.
Guys drooling like idiots over every female holding a controlle = Stupid.
