can anyone remember 'bushido blade' on the ps1???
basically it involved 3 different stances and you could get one hit kills, as well as slicing through bamboo as you chased someone....it was ace!!! unfortunately they buggered up the dynamic with the sequel, turning it into utter sh1te....cant they remake the original with updated graphics???
come on i want some samurai action on the ps3!!!

I owend it but stupidly sold it. Bushido Blade was way ahead of its time. A great spiritual successor to BB was Kengo on PS2. It required the same timing and finesse but took place in small rooms rather than large open ares.

Kengo is $4 at GameStop and a great game.

Anyone who does not remember Bushido Blade for the PS1 should not be playing samurai games, as they missed the one that set the standard for all similar games to follow. :)

A fighter where you could kill your opponent in one slash? Hell yeah I remember. Nothing quite like it after all these years I really hated that cheap asshole with the gun though.

You do know that is the PS2 version that is pictured not the upcoming PS3 version right? You should know if you read the actual article.

the original tenchu and tenchu 2 were great games, after that they kind of lost me. I used to spend hours and hours in the level editors, making the hardest levels i could. Bushido blade ruled. I'm going to keep an eye out for this hopefully it gets good reveiws.

I loved Bushido Blade! That game really was one of my first enjoyable replays on ps1 back in the day (next to N2o ridge racer). I think the best part about that game were the rules you had to follow. It really set the stage for the game and how you would think about your interaction. Plus who doesn't like a game that won't stab you in the back? eh?

I tell myself I'm done buying games for a while after MGS4 and Fallout 3. Can't be anything I would buy that I wouldn't rent first. Then someone goes and announces a third follow-up to my favorite game. The second one sucked, but that first one was perfect

I agree with the comments that Bushido Blade is the only samurai game you should play but it is hard to get. I'm glad I still have my copy. I just wish it would show up on PSN so others can enjoy it.

I played all of the other games (Bushido Blade 2 [bad game], Kengo series [neat idea but poor controls], Way of the Samurai [closest thing to Bushido Blade], and Samurai Western (horrible - apparently is Way of the Samurai 3, not sure though).

If you like Samurai games and love Bushido Blade, try Way of the Samurai 1 or 2. Both were fun and had pretty deep gameplay. Unlike Bushido Blade, there's a story in WotS. It has multiple endings and you can play your samurai as a good guy, bad guy, or something in-between. I liked the story but the game constraints around it become tedious. What makes the game fun is the fighting. Lots of swords to collect with different fighting styles. The fighting is very similar to Bushido Blade.

KENGO: Master of Bushido FOR PS2 WAS COMPLETE CRAP! The sound affects were awful, The Targeting system was terrible, graphics were weak, the only good point in that game was it was about samurai! The same can be said for Kengo zero for 360.
Yet saying all that, Bushido Blade was great in it's time and the least well known "Sword of the Samurai", the sequel to the first PS2 kengo game, also for PS2, was a whole lotta fun. The alternative missions kept the game entertaining and the automatic targeting was actually useful. If your interested in looking into this series, go for "Sword of the Samurai" as it's more up to date then Bushido Blade and has far better gameplay value the the 360 Kengo or the first PS2 version.
