MLG event reveals new Halo 3 multiplayer map: Cold Storage

Attendees of a recent Major League Gaming event in San Diego were rewarded for their ability to watch other people play video games for eight hours with a visit from Bungie figureheads Shishka and Lukems, who gave the glassy-eyed viewers a sneak peek at their newest multiplayer map for Halo 3, named "Cold Storage". This new map is apparently set in the back room of a Cold Stone Creamery, as part of Bungie's recent partnership with the highly successful, treatweaving corporation.

Actually, the map closely resembles a level from Halo the first, titled "Chill Out". It was one of the game's more unique maps, due to it's smaller size and asymmetry -- though how those aspects will carry over into the remake has yet to be revealed, as Bungie has yet to "formally" announce said map. Apparently, speaking to a roomful of professional video game spectators doesn't count as a formal social engagement. Who'd have thunk it?

Yea there's a lot of Halo 1 maps I wish they'd remake. Chiral-138 was always so much fun. And I know Valhalla is "supposed" to be Blood Gulch, but I'm still waiting for a proper remake.

The only time I played Halo 3 8 hours or more was when it came out. I don't think I could survive watching someone play it for 8 hours, that just sounds completely boring. These people need to get out more.

Is this supposed to be some kind of "Halo is shit" pun or are we talking about our limits? Because I couldn't last 8 hours no matter what game I would be playing.

No, not either of those. We're just talking about how playing Halo for 8 hours would be boring, but watching it for 8 hours would be hell.

I was 12, it was Chrono Trigger. 7 PM - 6 AM, on a Sunday / Monday during the summer time. I regret none of it - What could me more satisfying than completing the most complete game ever created? Nothing! (Sexual Relations and Sigur Rós concerts excluded).=

8 hours of Halo 3, or 99.9% of any other game? You obviously don't participate in the whole aforementioned Sex / Sigur Rós deal. Dullfest .

I don't really have a problem with playing 8 hours of a game, I've done that with plenty of games over the years. The thing I don't get is WATCHING a game for 8 hours.

I've been watching my bro trudge through MGS4. Luckily it plays more like a movie, so no regrets.

That video made me remember why I hate Halo so much.
