Rumor: First video of Silicon Knight's Crucible: The Evil Within

Also uncovered during the great marketing leak of ought-eight was the above video for a game said to be The Crucible, which leads us to assume it's Sega's The Crucible: The Evil Within, a horror game rumored to be developed by Silicon Knights. Though not officially announced, the title has been in development as early as 2006. Though it's unclear which platforms the game is for, it was supposedly in development for next-gen platforms (think 360/PS3). If true, it sounds like Sega's got quite the E3 lineup: Obsidian's Alpha Protocol, Gearbox's Aliens: Colonial Marines, of course the Platinum Games ... games, and now this.

Ugh... wow. This trailer just makes me depressed about the games industry as a whole. It's like all the generic shit we've become sick of in recent games, balled into one.

If this is a horror game it is seriously lacking in the horror department. Looks like a generic fantasy RPG you'd expect to find on the PC. That's not to say it looks bad though.

Please no! I own a Wii and I don't even want any games to be exclusive on it.

I'd rather see it on the 360 first, and then maybe the PS3. But the Wii is so last gen in its HorsePower. Any big game to come out on the Wii would likely be underwhemling in comparison to the more capable systems.

Leave the Wii for the casual crowd and the occassional Zelda and Mario and put all the hardcore gamer-games on the real systems please and thank you.
