Rumor: Spider-Man vs. Marvel Zombies creeping to Wii, 360, PS3

Guaranteeing us an ample amount of heebie jeebies in the near future, the supposed megaton marketing leak has revealed Spider-Man vs. Marvel Zombies for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii, where our second favorite webbed superhero takes on foes and former friends now zombified, from Marvel Zombies series.

According to a reported screengrab, the T-rated game takes place in an open city, a "free swinging environment in war torn Earth, 2149." Just a reminder: all of this is still a rumor, so don't get your hopes up until there's an official announcement.

Yeah, actually, that is pretty stupid. Since the whole Zombies universe is on a different earth, why not make the next Ultimate Alliance out of this premise...why would they just pick Spider-Man?

Is that a zombie Cyclops holding his own head? I don't know if I should be appaled or think this is freaking awesome. Atleast it's a better idea than a "Non-mortal Kombat" with DC characters.

You guys never heard of Marvel Zombies? I have known about it for a long time. Its major epic win in my book. I loves it.

Nice name you got james or should i say logan, are you worried, i personally feel he would come back. So no need to worry, im more intrigued by the fact that cyclops can still shoot his optic beam when he has his head severed, and from what i understand of zombie lore, he should be dead at this point. I read World War Z man

yeah, i used to think about comic book rules alot. like how some have gotten stronger over the years. i've seen wolvie blown up, shot up with an AK at close range, set on fire, but i missed him being torn in half.

If you actually read WWZ or the Zombie Survival guide, you'd know that decapitation does not destroy the brain, and as such, is not an effective way to kill a Zombie.

And Wolverine's body does not combat poison, so no, no he wouldn't come back from a zombie bite.

Yes, Logan's body does combat poison over time. But not all Zombie mythos are based on the same principle. Most are changed by a virus, others are mutations from radiation, some by magics, etc. Havent read MZ though, so I'm not sure which one that is.

And yes, you have to actually damage/destroy the brain(WWZ). The question I have by looking at this image is how he can control his body. The brain needs to be attached otherwise, all he could do is stare and bite.

The only thing wolverines immune system is susceptible to are viruses and poisons of an alien nature. I had this conversation before, it is the reason wolverine could be infected by the brood, and become a Zombie. Also I am pretty sure spiderman gets bit also, so how is he standing against them?

I've seen him recover from viruses. I think it's more the fact that it's alien in origin that caused him to change.

i thought wolverine could fight viruses, like he'd get sick for a short while but then get better. didn't they find a cure for the legacy virus like that or was that the cartoon/comic version. its like sometimes he'll bleed alot and other times he'll heal really fast. ever see how mangled he was in that punisher vs wolverine. his face was down to the metal and his balls got blown off. then it was insinuated that the punisher was trapped in the closet.

@Zsavior: I think this might be based on Marvel Zombies vs The Army of Darkness when Peter is able to resist the infection for a while. So maybe we'll see Ash too :D

after the spider man 3 movie, all I'm going to do in this game is let him get eaten alive.

Something wonderful and violent and adult could be done with Marvel Zombies, and it could be wonderful, instead there'll probably be another crap spiderman game.

I think this all smells a bit fishy because (being a comic nerd here) the part of the Marvel Universe this takes place in is called "Earth-2149" (the main reality for the current comics is "Earth-610") and not the year 2149. It could just be marketing messing up the information, but until I see an official announcement, this makes me think it may be made up.

Yes. That what I was thinking. I saw this story posted on another site earlier today and they said it took place in the year 2149 and I was like "NO YOU IDIOTS! THAT'S THE NUMBER OF THE UNIVERSE! BE COMIC BOOK NERDS!" but the comments system on that site never lets me actually post anything. >_>

There was something oddly damned cool about the Marvel Zombies storyline. A game, if executed right, would be killer.

Marvel vs. DC vs. Mortal Kombat vs. Smash Bros vs. Pokemon vs. Zombies vs. Robots vs. Pirates vs. Unicorns vs. Dust Bunnies is obviously a better premise.

If this is true, it's sad that The developer feels the need to lean on Spider Man to help sell the game. The title "Marvel Zombies" should be able to create a buzz alone.

I'm calling bullshit on this one. I don't think Marvel would allow it. I could be wrong though.

Aw except it was cool in the comics when Spider-Man knew he was turning into a zombie and he told Mary Jane and Aunt May to hide from him and then he was like "BITCHES IMMA EATCHOO!"

Naw, that's pretty much exactly the way it happened.

they will screw this series up. Besided spiderman was apart of the marvel zombies. If they wanna do this right make marvel zombies vs. the army of darkness. That would be a sweet game.

It'll probably be loosely based on the comics, with an alternate story.
