Despite Metal Gear Solid 4's teasing about the limitations of the DVD format, developers are already feeling the gigabyte crunch. Take Microsoft's own Forza 3 project (What? You didn't think they were working on another one?) which, according to the recently mined Xbox survey, won't be able to squeeze into a single DVD: "due to the number of cars and tracks included in the Forza 3 game, it will be sold as a 2-disc set."
Of course, the drawbacks of having multiple discs can be mitigated by handling the extra data intelligently, reducing the need to swap discs repeatedly, so we'll focus on the second part of that equation: one-hundred tracks? Seriously?

So, did everyone miss the announcement that the new XB360 dashboard/update is going to allow for optional HD installation? What does that mean? People who don't want to swap disks can install on the HD if they want. Granted, the 360 drives are overpriced, but the option is going to be there if you want it.
I own both consoles, have Forza and GT, and have to say I think that forza is the better game. Far more polish, more 'realistic' physics. GT is good, just not as good as forza: I expect a lot from forza 3.
The load times/disk swapping are fairly minor issues and the whole argument seems to be reserved for either the extremely fat (can't get off the cough), those with ADD (can't wait a minute or two every couple hours) and the shameless fanboys who will find every pathetic detail to try and justify thier childish allegiance to an electronics manufacturer that couldn't really care less what they think.
Both systems have thier ups and downs, as do both games.
