Amazon has dropped the price of NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams even further, from a tempting $20.99 to a tantalizing $16.88. At that price, it's almost irresistible! We know this because we are currently almost failing to resist it. Amazon's price for new copies has finally dipped down just below Gamefly's price for used copies, and, as with Gamefly, free shipping is available.
The rapidly-falling price for what was supposed to be the triumphant return of a beloved franchise doesn't really bode well for the future. We shouldn't look forward to a localized version of the PS2 NiGHTS into Dreams remake, for one thing. Or anything that doesn't star Sonic and about a billion other anthropomorphic jerks.

Shit, $17 is excellent
I would agree that, for what you're buying, it's not worth $50, but still, it was a damn good game. A fitting follow-up to the sheer whimsy of the first

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME IF THIS GAME IS WORTH $17!!!!!!!!! Sorry for the all caps but I was considering getting the Saturn and the Original game. P.S. Is the PS3 region free for PS2 games?

Worth $17? Definitely. High-end WiiWare games are going for $15, and this game has got enough beautiful scenery and neat little challenges to merit the cost of a WiiWare game. You get about 8 hours out of it, though one of those will be spent trying to figure out that damn Chameleon
Whereas the cost to get a Saturn and an original copy would be mind-boggling, i think. Used Saturns are at a premium

DO NOT LISTEN TO THESE PEOPLE. Avoid this game. Do not spend any money on it at all. It is terrible in everyway. I try overlooking the terrible acting, ugly characters, BORING cutscenes to get to the gameplay, but the controls are broken and the levels unexciting.
Trust me, this is coming from a HUGE fan of the original game, pass this "deal" up.

Worth it? If I saw it in the bargain bin for $5.99, I might pause and think about it, have rose colored memories of Nights on the Saturn, and then move on.
I'll say it again.
The hub world and lame tutorials totally ruin what would have been a fine but unexceptional follow up. If they would have cut out all the pointless crap and kept the core game intact it would have made a nice wiiware title.

For UK people I saw Nights in Game for 9.99 and in Currys Digital for 6.99 and it is not worth even that harumph. I was so excited
