Sony has announced that PSP will graduate to firmware 4.00 this week, marking the unexpected integration of the Google search engine ... directly into the XMB! Woah, Sony. Slow down. We're still recovering from update v3.95's option to quit Remote Play without turning off the PS3.
The latest feature you didn't know you needed and will seldom use promises authentic Google.com search results (which we presume will open in the clunky PSP browser if selected), with an input history of up to 20 items, so you can check up on your exes, your exes' exes, and their exes day to day with ease and efficiency under the guise of "portable gaming." But if the forthcoming Google search ain't sellin' you on "SCEA's commitment to further enhance the mobile entertainment experience on PSP," then perhaps you'll want to crack open v4.00's second easter egg later this week: the ability to change viewing speed -- to faster and slower settings -- during playback of videos stored on a Memory Stick. Huzzah!

How about being able to access a media server without remoting through the PS3 first.

...well how about support for cooking me breakfast then? I'm tired in the morning, and I'm sick of cereal, dammit!

I, too, would be extremely pleased if my PSP could prepare me a bowl of cereal, or some waffles, or fry some eggs.
Is that so much to ask?

Breakfast, I don't have time for that. Have it sync up with my coffee machine and I'll be happy.

I just want mine to have a GPS system leading me to the nearest sexy single girl, I'll take it from there, otherwise, a decent network, online store, in game xbm to listen to custom soundtracks, flash and music while on internet.

Wow, how about a better browser BEFORE integrating Google to the XMB? lol

I agree with the mem stick cache... that would definitely help.
Eh, not a bad update though. I use the web browser quite a lot when I'm away from home, and occasionally otherwise. Now I can change my homepage to something else.
Still, I'd have rather seen them bring IM to it instead, I mean ICQ, MSN, AOL, etc. Skype was a great update, more of that type of thing, please. Oooh SMS, PSP to phone and vice versa, would be awesome! That way I don't have to pay trumped up charges to my cell phone company. Oh and where's my damn GPS and camera attachments?!
It still amazes me how much alternate usage I get out of this GAMING portable. I use it all the time to stream webcasts especially. Good job Sony, bringing a mature gaming device with a plethora of features to the people.

Would be great if we had a way of making the browser semi usable. I played around with it a bit and it crashed like all the time due to not enough memory. I would have loved to have it work right so i could surf the net in the break room at lunch at work. And I tried doing a google search on it from the built in browser and it would lock up all the time. So what is the point if the browser can't hold up to a google search.

There is flash support, the problem is that it only has 2mb of cache.

i have an old psp, and the web browsing is still worthless. If they're going to keep promoting the internet as a feature, then they should've made the slim a touch-screen reserved for features other than games.

Funny how everyone has said that this feature is useless but when you actually think it through, most features in our gadgets is useless. Then I remembered, I was a man and I love to buy usless junk.
I drive a car with a Hard Drive in it; why? When I have an Ipod and a Laptop. Also has a camera on the rear bumper; but I realized I can turn my head. Go figure! Do I really need a Wii Fit when I have a gym membership? Yes I do b/c I love useless junk.
What? my DS has a chat feature! Damn, why have I wasted all my life communicating by mouth to my colleague near me when when I can make it more complicated and write it on my DS?

wow. another PSP update that i am not impressed by. my PSP has been getting alot of love lately with Patapon and Crisis Core so im not completely disappointed but there are other things they could add that would be more useful than this.
i mean, youll still more than likely have to wait for the PSP to connect to the internet and load the Google page, in which case you could have just set Google as your homepage in the browser. maybe there is more to it or something cause this seems pointless.
