Better yet, use the Wii Balance Board for controls.

Personally, I'd like to see a massive Katamari Damacy compilation for the Wii that includes content from all four titles using the Beautiful Katamari engine. Combine that with the complete soundtrack from the entire series available anywhere in the game and you have a winning combination for the ultimate Katamari title ever produced... not to mention Wii motion controls.

Speaking of controls, the Wii version could implement three different methods. First, you could have the more obvious "tilt the world" type controls similar to what was used for Kororinpa: Marble Mania which would probably be the most intuitive of the three. Next, you could use the traditional control method through the classic controller or gamecube controller. finally, you could have a hands-on control system close to the vein of No More Heroes, where the prince's Katamari rolling methods are an exact match of your physical movements holding both the nunchuk and Wii Remote. (example: both up = forward, both down = reverse, alternating = spin dash, both left = left, both right = right, etc...)

You don't even need the use of the nunchuck.

Hold the wiimote NES-style, tilt to move forward, backward or sideway and use the d-pad to rotate the camera. It's that simple.

While that control implementation could work, it would be very tiring. And potentially even worse, it just wouldn't have the snap that analog sticks have.

I personally prefer a sideways wiimote scheme. Tilting the Wiimote would move you around in a manner similar to Monkey Ball, while 1/2 would rotate the camera (much as the tiltforward/tiltback is now) and A button would flip. Shaking the Wii remote would dash. Not nearly as hard on your wrists.
