Sony takes 'gaming phone' concept seriously
The PlayStation Phone? Not quite. But it's clear that Sony is keen to get in on the growing mobile gaming business, especially in the wake of Apple's recent iPhone game announcements.
Speaking of the iPhone, take a look, if you will, at the Sony Ericsson F305. Sure, it's sporting some decidedly old-school graphics on-screen, but what you can't see are motion controls under the hood. Our pals at Engadget report that the (officially) yet-unannounced phone contains an accelerometer to facilitate motion-based control, a la the iPhone. Plus, if you look at the right side of the handset (turned horizontally) you'll notice two familiar buttons: "X" and "O." There's also a prominent D-Pad on the phone's face, along with a distintive PlayStation-controller-iconified button.
The phone will reportedly come with three pre-installed games – Bowling, Bass Fishing, and Jockey – which all make use of the accelerometer. Not quite God of War, or even Super Monkey Ball, but it could signal a proverbial testing of the waters for Sony.

And honestly, when do you need a game for your phone? Are you honestly that bored somewhere, where you have to take out your phone to play some cheesy game that often?
It's clear people love wasting money in this country. Especially in the phone departments. People who pay for ringers, pictures, games, $20 a month to access the net on your phone.....WHY

Mega Man II, it's worth noting, is still awesome, even with shitty cell phone controls.
...although I can't beat Heat Man's level for shit.
try sitting on a train in tokyo. In the carriage you'll see 10 people playing on their DSes, 8 people playing on their PSPs, and 20-30 people playing on their phones.
A few of the phones over here can already match/beat the DS for graphics... its the controls that have always been lacking.
Personally I never played games on my phone until i started communting.. but then I never played DS games until I started commuting either.
(and since everyone except the posers uses their phone for music over here too, and many for cameras, email, internet and GPS, its only logical that it should all get rolled into one device).
I like having a game on the go, as I don't always have my psp/ds with me.
Have you SEEN phone services in other countries. Yeah, we pay a lot, but our network is crap as far was what is available when compared to others.
