Blizzard decided to do PvE to PvP transfers for the first time this week, Season 4 is coming soon in the Arenas, and lots of changes are coming to old Azeroth (including the Dalabubble, above). This isn't the first PvE to PvP. They allowed Hyjal (Fires of Heaven) to transfer to Black Dragonfilght years ago. I think it was the only planned one that went through.
