In our quest to familiarize ourselves with the laws of nature (and subsequently defy them), this week we're going to share at least five abominations, one each day, that we've concocted in Spore Creature Creator. You can keep track of this our progress via our various profile pages:
For day two (new entries start here), we've got an elated peppermint, an attentive dinosaur, and a hiphopapotamous with flows that glow like phosphorous. You can see all the creatures from the week starting here. Each page contains a link to the creature's respective Sporepedia page where you can download and edit our work.

I tried out the spore demo yesterday. All I can say is its a whole lot of fun! I love the unlimitless options in creating your character. I even uploaded a youtube video showing it (/http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G04QW__jagU) for my blog, Pariah's Guild (http://pariahs-guild.com/).

Don't click if you have a mature sense of humour, but the Spore universe is going to be a place of great stupidity. What happens when geeks and immature minds become gods?

Playing the Creature Creator constantly reminds myself of how uncreative I am.

Great creations. I'm a bit confused as to this whole Creature creator thing though. If I pay the 10 bucks now, will it come off the top end when the whole game comes out? Or will I effectively be paying my 10 bucks again? I'll stick with the free demo for now If I'm going to have to cough up another 10 bucks when the full retail release comes out.

Well you get $5 off the top end of Spore when it releases. So you're really only paying $5 for the Creature Creator, which is actually not too bad at all.

Ahh, for a moment there I got the preposterous hypothesis that it was a hippopotamus, not a hiphop-potamus...

Poppin' off the top of this esophagus , rockin' this metropolis. I'm not a large water dwelling mammal, where did you get that preposterous hypothesis? Did Steve tell you?
Also, did he get all of your other creatures pregnant? His rhymes are potent enough to do that you know.

I downloaded the trial yesternight and was somewhat worried going in that it was not going to run on my integrated intel card but surprisingly it did, and with high graphics detail and no lag (on low 800x600 resolution however.
I started to make a creature and was having fun. I played around with it for around 20 mins. In the end I gave up tho because the demo parts are VERY limiting. I wont be playing it again until I get my hands on the full version of the creature creator.
One thing I thought could use some improvment was the painting feature. It didnt give me nearly the freedom I thought it would.
Oh and could some1 tell me how to make the body bigger/wider? Its a roundish ball to start and if you shrink it then make it grow with the red arrows its just a stick-like spine. Couldnt figure out how to make it thiker.

I also thought the paint tool was limiting, till I found out if you clicked on a color, more similar colors appeared. Suddenly instead of it having only 15ish colors it had like 300 to chose from, making it a bit more useful.

oh O knew about that. I was just hoping for some sort of free paint option, but it appears as if you can only choose outlines/patterns. Like If I want to make a spotted creature, I can only choose from a style of spots and select the colour, I cannot actually paint each spot on individually with a brush like tool. So if you wanted to create a creature like your dog who has a spot under his right ear and nowhere else, it cant be done.
