Never got to play the first one although I was marginally excited about it. I'll probably pick this one up and give it a shot.

This puts Advance Wars: DoR (almost done), TWEwY, and Etrian Odyssey 2 in the queue- it's shaping up to be a busy summer!

I enjoyed the first one (though it became a chore toward the end and ultimatelly lost the will to finish the post-game bonus dungeon when my characters maxed out), I don't have much urges to get the sequel. Seems like it's just going to be the same game all over again, there wasn't even graphics improvement. I guess it's good for people who missed the first to get this. I just want to know if it has any extra appeal for people who had beaten the first already and not exactly wanting more of the same thing.

I'm playing part II and I'm in the first dungeon. I think its harder than part I.

I beat the first game but not the extra levels because my characters were maxed at level 70 and couldn't gain anymore experience to fight the hard as hell monsters on the extra floors.

When you start part II, you can type in a 75 character password.. and you get...

to keep your guild name. And a medal that will up the stats of one of your characters. So you still start with new characters at level 1 and thrust into a dungeon that will kick your ass unless you remember to have a medic in your party who knows the Cure spell before you start the quest.

tough game. I'm a sucker for these games. I love it.

I picked up the new one yesterday. I'm in the middle of TWEWY right now, but I'm anxious to start up EOII!

I agree with what Melody said. If you're gonna remake Bards Tale than improve on it. I'm a sucker for these games but there was so little variation. I mean come on do we really have to have the same music for 10 whole levels. Same thing goes for repeating tiles. EOII should have been the starting point not an expansion pack sequel.
I'll be waiting for dragon quest for my old fashion grinding pleasure.
