your right xbox360fanboy didn't break the NDA they broke something more which is the integrity they should have as journalists and NOT post the video that is a clear violation of a NDA covered subject even if it was sent in as a tip or not.

Good thing the video has been taken down and the user banned.

I hear he's also been sent to his room without dinner.

I'm thinking about leaked screens for Windows 95, 98, XP, 'Longhorn'. I'm thinking about reading about and seeing screenshots of Norton Security WAY back in the day.

I recall reading and seeing so many items that were all from someone that violated an NDA. It isn't the first time and it isn't going to be the last. Time to get off your high horse. It was crappy for the guy to do it, Ubisoft has made moves to remove the video. Stop acting like this upset your day because it was covered by (several) members of the blogosphere.

You're absolutely right. It's a journalist's responsibility to stay quiet and protect the status quo. Up with The Man!

Information about certain products gets leaked all the time. Product specs get leaked weeks or months before it has gone public. Some dude steals something out of the warehouse and somehow the specs and pics get posted on some tech website...(ENGADGET or BOYGENIOUS REPORT) Now i am not saying this is right or wrong. Thats not the point.

The point is you come to this site and those others to hear NEW, or LATE BREAKING stories.. And thats what this is. i didnt see anyone complaining about those sonic images being leaked or all those blu-ray 360 drives stories One of them coudlve been true and then that means someone broke a contract agreement probably.. Someone somewhere breaks an agreement with a company.. Doesnt make it right but thats the world we live in today.

Now as a blogsite its Richards,Dustins and XAv (dont kno his name) job to report the news as long as it doesn't endanger the lives of a person.

So dont get your panties in a bunch people.

I'm right there with ya man. There are far more important things to place your priorities on than someone breaking a freakin Beta NDA. Seriously, a Beta NDA. I mean, come on. I'm an engineer and I think this is about as nerd-like as it gets. Children complaining over someone breaking a Beta NDA.

Wow. Just, wow.

Quit making sense. You're annoying everybody.

Seriously though, when ANYONE does these closed betas, they know going into them exactly what's going to happen. They aren't stupid. They put it out under the guise of an NDA but know it's going to get leaked and drum up publicity. If they really needed to protect anything in the beta it wouldn't see it's way out of the office doors of Ubi.

What's End War? :)

I want to admit to everyone that I leaked gameplay footage of Yaris before it was released. I accept responsibility for my actions. I assume the punishment is death... right? Nothing could be more serious or earth-shattering as this crime.

Don't see the big deal, beta isn't any good anyway. Game isn't any fun, certainly isn't my kind of RTS.

Maybe i just need more time with it though.

JW - "Precisely. Closed Betas in any form are pointless because you need a large amount of testers to really understand the impact that a large density of players will have on your system. There is a reason why Halo 3 Beta was pretty much open to everyone."

You've done nothing but proven your ignorance to the development process.

First off, the "Halo 3 Beta" was not a beta at all. It was a demo. A way for them to see if people would log 1,000 games before a month was over, and it was also just a test of popularity and servers. It had nothing to do with the end result. There were closed betas in Halo 3's dev. process that had way more of an effect of the product that shipped to retail.

Secondly, closed betas happen of every game whether you know this or not. Every game you've ever laid your hands on had a limited closed beta, and most of them turned out pretty great without having "a massive amount of testers". Again, COD4 and Halo 3's betas were moreso just demos to see how popular they'd be and if the servers would buckle with an influx of players.

Lastly, you keep parading this StartWar nonsense as if "it doesn't matter". It matters a great deal to a team and studio who are putting their time and effort into features that could be effortlessly ripped off by another RTS developer in a heartbeat. It takes hours upon hours of brainstorming and work to figure out how to implement some of these features correctly, but it only takes a fraction of that time to see it in action and rip it off. They're not afraid that their whole game is going to get ripped off, just key features that were previously unbeknownst to the media.

And to the rest of you defending this, not every beta has a leak. Most people actually follow the LAWS set down by an Non-Disclosure Agreement, a contract. It seems that most leaks come from beta test who are extremely public about it or let testers test from home. Just because you want to see it in action doesn't mean that someone should breach a contract to show you. Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 didn't have NDA's with their PUBLIC beta tests. This is a Private test, which is why when you're playing it, it shows you at the "Xbox 360 Dashboard".

So I'll say it again...This is why we can't have nice things.

Actually, I only stated "StartWar" once, which you failed to notice because your ability to read is clearly limited by your misguided priorities.

1. Halo 3 Beta is was not a Beta, ehh? Interesting logic seeing as it was called Halo 3 Beta and the whole point of it was to ensure that their new matchmaking system would function properly under the strain of millions of users. Yeah, I'm the ignorant one.

2. I am very aware that closed Betas are the norm in the industry which is why you see many online games suffer from a lack of testing when they are released. You've just proved my point. Thank you for your stupidity.

3. Find something better to do with your time than complaining about a Beta NDA. For instance, I'm currently writing some software that will dynamically switch a wireless node from a bridge to an AP under certain conditions that arise during an emergency. Thats constructive.

What you have demonstrated here is that you put video games ahead of everything else in your life and I pity you for that. I pity the fact that you are such a sad individual; an individual with his priorities placed solely on a piece of entertainment that does not have any life-changing implications. People like you are why the entertainment industry is nothing more than a shackle on society's ankle.

Congratulations on your pathetic and greed-infested existence. Cheers!

That's cute. I offended you into a 10-year-old state of "oh let's pick on someone". The video game industry is where I'm placing my career so forgive me for thinking that this is a big deal. If you looked at the bottom of the site though, you'd see it's just a layout from "Reality Software". Nice try though, little buddy.
