PSP Firmware 4.00 available now

After updating the firmware on our PSPs to version 4.00, we were initially quite perplexed by the lack of obvious new features for our beloved portable 'station. This prompted a quick Google search from within the XMB, which pointed us to this Joystiq post explaining ... wait a minute. XMB Google search? That wasn't here before, was it?
The update is now available for download via the network update or through our pals at PSP Fanboy. They tell us 4.00 also adds the ability to change video playback speed with the Up and Down buttons. We'll be sure to try that on all the, err, interesting videos we're busy googling.

It can only play back like mp4s and stuff so there goes 100% of everything I wanted to look at.

Google VEMoDe, will let you convert all sorts of video files so they will play on a PSP, iPod/Phone, ect.

It would be nice if the PSP also got in-game XMB similar to the PS3's pending update.

Damn, I'm getting it right now, and it doesn't seem 25 MB worth. Why not a hologram that displays the picture to the wall?(sarcasm) But it needs something good. Like better support, better internet browser. Now we have to wait until 5.00. :(

hey i'm just learning about downgrading my old psp! i know u need 2 download the codes from the dark guy but after you have done that then what?? i hav'nt put them in my psp yet,just have them in my comp.is'nt there a way to put the codes directly to my memory stick w/o changing my batterie?
