Ubisoft Reflections creating new Driver game
Obvious automobile news now, with the shocking revelation that the people inside Ubisoft's Reflections studio, nabbed by the French publisher in 2006, are hard at work clicking buttons, typing code and making "VROOM!" sound effects in order to service a new Driver game. You may remember it as the getaway car sim that you liked before Thelma and Louise took the wheel for most of the sequels.Aside from its in-development status, not much is revealed about the new Driver in a BBC News clip, though it does show a man modeling a red (then blue, no, yeeeelllloooow!) sports car. That's a good start, we suppose.

Driver 3 wasn't that bad. At the time, I considered the bugs as charming. It gave the game character.

Please make it more Driver than any of the sequels.

I gave up on one of the levels from an old driver game because the game absolutely wouldn't allow you to win... If you ran into the other car, it wouldn't even move. It was like a brick wall. I replayed that level probably 50 times before I finally got fed up and took it back to blockbuster.

Anyone else remember that Driver was incredibly buggy but in a really weird and somewhat charming way?
I can remember numerous times when you'd mince your car and it would fly up in the air and get stuck in the sky etc.
I can only imagine what responses that game would garner in this internet savvy day and age.
"This game is a mess! Bugs everywhere! Release a patch!

Driver 2 was a cool game. In fact, I borrowed a friend's Playstation just to play that game, as well as GTA 1.
I think you could go to Havana. Seeing the cars was like stepping into a timewarp. And those suicidal cops who'd ram into you the moment they were called. There were some epic cut scenes as well, I think. I was all into that stuff way back then.

haha, yah, the cops were actually insane on this game, they would really try anything to stop you, I remember once I had to escape on foot because they had crash around me and there was no way out...

I only ever played Driver, the original one. Was fun while it lasted from what little I remember.

Driv3r was actually an intensely fun game. you just had to give it more time. If you do a search on YouTube for mstng700 you'll find my replays on there. It'll show you some of the best moments that Driv3r had. With that said, this next Driver better bring back the Director Mode. That's what sets it apart from GTA games. Replay movies!!

TANNER DIDNT DIE FTW!!!
Loved Driver, Driver 2, Driv3R- not because of the gameplay but because of the story. My whole family fell in love with Vasquez, the first time we saw him in the game was just made of epic WIN! Jericho in driv3r killing his boss epic WIN!! And the end of of both Driver 2 and Driv3r with Tanner getting followed at the end by that Yellow car in D2 and him and Jericho being resuscitated in D3 EPIIIC!!...wait for it.... WIIIN!!!

I actually really enjoyed Driver3 90% of the time. It looked great (the cities had great atmosphere and lighting) and the driving model was great fun. I particularly enjoyed driving at insane speeds on the bikes as the sun set over the ocean.
The other ten percent of the time it made you want to kill someone (or yourself).
I actually replayed one of the later levels over 250 times in a row before I beat it. (I counted to 237, but I'd already tried a lot before I started counting.)
It was so unforgiving, and the slightest mistake (by you OR the AI drivers) could make the levels unbeatable.
I honestly was seriously thinking of threatening letters in my head to mail to the developers (along with the bits of the shattered CD).
