Watch the Oregon Trail gameplay video, stave off dysentery

There may not be any sound with the video, but let the power of imagination fill in the sounds like when you had to play the original game with no sound in the classroom as a child. Yes sir, watching this video might spare you from a broken arm, dysentery and other afflictions (or try one of Mrs. Lovett's meat pies). Behold ...

What happened to phone games looking and playing like crap?
Paulmichael @ Jun 18th 2008 10:10PM
Oh, they still do. There's just more decent-looking/playing games coming out now. Hell, there's even Metal Gear Solid for phones, though I think it's still being developed...

mgs mobile is out and its actually pretty decent. it looks as good as the original mgs but on a smaller screen and smaller rooms with less going on. It is definitely worth it to get your mgs fix while away from mgs4

Ah, good to know, though I have a smartphone now, of course that means I can emulate PS1 and just play the original MGS...

Whew, so much color! A far cry from the monochrome Oregon Trail original I played on a Mac many years ago.

Am I the only one who can't find the game to buy on a verizon phone?
kevinski @ Jun 18th 2008 11:48PM
I can't either. I don't even see it listed on the Web site. It's too bad, too, because I was really excited about this. I love Oregon Trail. ^_^

Dude, A.S.S. must've been an incredible gamer since he had the high score on almost every machine at the old arcade. Either him or his cousin P.O.O.

Man, why won't they make an Oregon Trail DS? These screens totally gave me the ultimate blue balls cholera when I realized it was for a PHONE.
CoffeeDaze @ Jul 10th 2008 11:05AM
It's available with the LG Dare now on Verizon. They modified it for touchscreens which makes hunting and fishing fun. Too bad Mary will still die from dysentery. (she always does) It's only $6.99 as well which was a nice surprise considering most games cost $9+ anymore.
