A new update Team Fortress 2 is now available via Steam and includes major updates to the Pyro class. The basic flamethrower has alternate fire compression blast, the hadouken taunt now kills people and, most importantly, three new weapons have been added, to be unlocked by conquering the 35 new Pyro achievements.
The update also adds two community maps (cp_fastlane and ctf_turbine). Don't forget, Team Fortress 2 is free to play all weekend starting tomorrow. You can pre-load the game now.

Taunting somebody to death as he turns a corner and hearing his reaction over voice chat has to be one of the funniest things I have ever experienced.

Two things I hate most about TF2:
1. Spies
2. Pyros
Everybody else I play nice with. But those two...those two were conceived by the devil himself for the sole purpose of giving me a migraine.

Actually, you only need 22 to collect all of the weapons.

You can't find it?
It's in the Orange Box and it is sold individually in stores.
Steam has had a price drop on TF2 for quite some time now. I would just download it off of Steam for the reduced price because you'll need Steam to play the game anyway.
By you can't find it, did you really mean you haven't started looking?

Starting random small fires in public places is cool.
More people should really get into it.
When I was a bit younger, there was a big drain pipe in the woods that collected all the rainwater from the streets and dumped it into a creek.
Me and my friend collected all the plastic and rubber and flammable liquid we could and walked to a junction that was right under a grate in a little strip mall parking lot.
We started a big ass fire.
The pillowing black smoke that poured out of the grate in parking lot scared those poor unsuspecting shoppers senseless. It was really out of control.
I wish I didn't have responsibility and stuff now so I could do cool stuff like that all day again.
To any young boys reading this, go start a fire. Fires rock. Just don't burn anything down, unless you burn down something that doesn't matter. Then it's OK.
I'm a role model.

This is annoying. I got VERY bored of pyros trowing themselves in front of Sasha, and the cheating shits that already have the axe.
And tomorry, it's going to get worse! While a high kill rate is good, I much rather have fun. A team of pyros vs another team of pyros is SHIT!

Tell me about it... I was playing a match and there were FIVE PYROS rushing our base! I thought there were player limits in place!

Oh good god. I just played against a bunch of people who already got all the weapons. They're annoying.
And what's worse? I kept getting sniped with the flare gun. This is all sorts of WRONG.

Let me comment as someone who in a *legit* manner got all the achievements.
Pyros in general: got a HUGE boost here with the ability to deflect rockets back the other way with the air blast.
Backburner: great alternative to the normal flamethrower; 50 health extra gives you more than a soldier which is pretty sick. The critting from behind is not nearly as generous as the Spy's backstab; you have to be almost directly behind them to crit them.
Flare gun: Similar to the critzcrieg in the sense that its situational. I like using it ('cause it's fun) but it's good long range compared to the shotgun. That being said, its a bit hard to aim, reload after every shot, and is absolutely useless for the time being (if 90% of the other team is composed of pyros)
Axtinguisher: Situational just like the ubersaw, but when used correctly, it pays off. Not much of a chance to use it now, being melee and with swarms of pyros which it is pretty much useless against.
Basically, the first 2 are good fun, but the third will be hurt by the Pyro's move speed a bit.

What does it mean free to play for da weekend? Does it mean that those who do not have TF for the PC can play it free or does it mean that they charge ppl who owns the game just to play it online like the mmorpgs?
I only have the ps3 version but would love to get the PC one since I prefer PC fps and I doubt the ps3 one will get the updates.

The free weekend is as follows:
Anyone with a PC that can run TF2:
Can download Steam/make an account for free
Download the game for the weekend and play during that time
At the end of the weekend, those who used that offer are unable to play TF2 until they either buy the game (19.95 on Steam I believe, $30 in stores) or wait for another free weekend (which may not happen for a while.
Basically, get TF2, unless you hate FPS, you won't regret it. Plus, tons of mods, custom maps, sprays, better controls. If you're thinking about getting it, get it! I got it for Christmas for free as part of an ATI video card bundle (ATI HD 2600 XT), about $100 at the time.

Valve does not charge players to play TF2.
The only charge to play TF2 is the cost to purchase the game. Online play is completely free.
Free weekend means that anybody who doesn't have TF2 can play it for free this weekend. It's basically the full version of TF2, but you can only play it for three days. (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Thanx. I am goin to dl and see if my pc can play TF2 smoothly. If so, I will buy it on amazon. If not, I might have to get a video card. In the meantime, I can play the ps3 version.

Honestly, if you're going to buy it online, you may as well go with Steam. They usually offer the best price, and what's even better is that you download it immediately, and anytime you need space, you can remove it and re-download later. Or if you play on another computer, your Steam id will allow you to download and play there too.
Most of this can be done with a disc or online purchase, but it would be really good to support Steam. It's a great network and distribution system and well worth our support, imho.

If I understand correctly, there is a limit to updates/DLC that a single game has on XBL. Now, Valve has already put up some form of DLC/updates, correct? Now if they were to put further updates, I believe they would have to charge for them. My guess is that if Valve were to do it at all, it would be after all classes are updated.

I thought that too, but look at Burnout. They're adding entire new portions of the game, night driving, SUVs and Bikes and it's all free.
It may be in the cost that M$ charges for using the network/bandwidth that makes devs balk at free content? Or maybe M$ is... heaven forbid, greedy? ;-)
Hard to tell
