BioWare considering Wii, PSP development

Mass Effect creator BioWare likes console development. In fact, it would like to do more of it – on more platforms – so implies Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood project lead Mark Darrah in an interview with Gamasutra."We're looking into Wii and PSP as a company," Darrah revealed, although "nothing's been decided." BioWare is also intent on broadening its portfolio, Darrah says.
While its forte is definitely in the RPG genre, we have seen solid effort from BioWare in the action category with MDK2 for Sega Dreamcast and PlayStation 2. Company co-founder Greg Zeschuck has previously told Joystiq that he's keen to take another stab at the genre ... it's just a matter of clearing its already very full plate first and catching the right idea.

I doubt it, since Square-Enix owns the rights to anything Mario RPG related. But maybe a game like Mario RPG would be nice, and I would probably buy it day one since I'm a bioware whore.

I'm sure Nintendo could, if they wanted, buy off the rights to all Mario RPG characters from Square-Enix. Since they do, after all, have the key to the money printing machines (now prints dollars US/CAN/AU, yen, pounds, and euros!).

Sonic RPG is being developed by Bioware's B team. So it's going to suck hard. Also, Bioware's games are BORING, i mean REALLY BORING.
I hope Bioware never touches anything Mario RPG related.

I have a couple comments:
Mass Effect sucked. really bad, It almost convinced me to stop playing video games. I had a hard time just forgetting about that game and moving on, i felt so cheated that even though I hated that game i felt compelled to finish it. But since I hated it I never wanted to play it. Therefore it almost killed my gaming addiction. Eventually I was able to realize what a piece of shit Mass Effect was and bury it in the cabinet never to be seen again, and finally move on.

If Bioware makes a game for the Wii I bet it will be a branching conversation tree mini game.

I know its not going to be a popular statement but I personally really HATED that game. And usually I like what Bioware does...dunno.
I played it for like 6 hours and what I was thinking is "when is this game going to start". It never felt like I was playing anything, just like I was pressing a button to continue the story.
I was really unhappy with this game, maybe just something specific to me, everyone else seemed to think it was tits.

Might I suggest you do not even attempt playing MGS4 then, lest your frustration with "not playing a game" escalate to mind numbing proportions.
Mass Effect was a great game IMHO. I'm really looking forward to the trilogy (GET ON IT BIOWARE!).

It had many flaws, but Mass Effect was still a beautifully-made game on the whole. I enjoyed it, inventory system aside.

My boyfriend tried his hardest to get me into playing western style rpgs.(via bioware)But they're all boring. I love Sonic. But the idea of having Bioware make a Sonic RPG, it bothers me ALOT. There are so many other rpg focused developers out there. Why Bioware?

It is probably due to the fact that Bioware has warrant many a critical acclaim and sales to go along those claims. If you think western rpgs are boring, you clearly haven't played JRPGs.

J-rpgs? I enjoy them. (I love the girly looking men. It gets me hot, lol. j/k-ing.) Persona 3 FES, Lost Odyssey and The World Ends With You is what I'm playing right now. Blue Dragon was cute.(I know there's alot of "Traditional Rpg" haters out there, but whatever. I like them. Not for everyone i guess.)
Next month I'll be playing, Final Fantasy IV on the DS and in August, DISGAEA FUCKING 3! (once again, not for everyone)

You're right, J-RPGs don't appeal to everyone (I'm not a huge fan, although I am a bit of a Pokémaniac, and Chrono Trigger is one of my favorite games of all time), but likewise, Western RPGs don't appeal to all, either. Both genres have their fans and their haters.
Coming into a post about BioWare (a well known Western RPG developer) and ragging on about how BioWare's games are boring, with little substance to your post, comes off as a trollish flame. Whether or not that was your intent is a different matter.
So, the main thing to get is this, L: think before you post.

I think there is money in Wii games waiting to be found. Once a 3rd party finds out how to make a good game and it sells well they will be very happy.

They should "consider" making another sequel to KOTOR. KOTOR 2 wasn't enough for me, and I know that I'm not alone.
For now though, I'll be waiting for these games as well as Mass Effect 2.
