Battlefield: Bad Company trailers parody Gears of War, Rainbow Six

In the immortal words of Matthew Wilder, it looks like EA isn't letting some early bad press for Battlefield: Bad Company break-a their stride. We've seen a veritable gaggle of promotional material for the controversial title as of late, including two recent trailers which clown on some other popular shooters. The first of which, seen above, parodies the unforgettable Gears of War trailer, and features an unnamed infantryman butchering Gary Jules' cover of the Tears for Fears classic downer "Mad World". The other (available after the break) somewhat mocks Rainbow Six's stealth tactics. It's not exactly uncharted territory, but we can always appreciate such Yankovician displays of friendly competition between developers.

Well...the actual ad was crap but it deserved a lot of praise for its brave soundtrack.
After all, what kind of a sane person would pair up Gears of War with Mad World?

Okay...this is gotta be one of the funniest trailers I've ever seen.In fact the only thing that can top that are TF2 trailers but they're just state-of-art.

Agreed, the destruction engine is too novel, it's based off events rather than actual physics--so you can do things like destroy all the outer walls of a building, but ripping a few tank shells off at the inner walls does nothing. And the decision not to go M is disappointing--shooters aren't the same without any effects of shooting people.

Okay, if ads are supposed to persuade me to buy the game, then DICE and Valve are the only people in this industry who did this right.Way to go!

Efing funny, I wasn't really jazzed about this game, but if it contains more of this kind of comedy and hilarity and the gameplay is fun, it's a buy for me.

A good demo and great trailers. What more do you need? Oh yeah, you need more hype and paid off reviews. Get a mind of you own and you'll realize how much better BF:BC is than all of these other overrated games. I've played 18 hrs of the demo, and that's just ONE map. Definitely a purchased for me.
