Battlefield: Bad Company trailers parody Gears of War, Rainbow Six
73
In the immortal words of Matthew Wilder, it looks like EA isn't letting some early bad press for Battlefield: Bad Company break-a their stride. We've seen a veritable gaggle of promotional material for the controversial title as of late, including two recent trailers which clown on some other popular shooters. The first of which, seen above, parodies the unforgettable Gears of War trailer, and features an unnamed infantryman butchering Gary Jules' cover of the Tears for Fears classic downer "Mad World". The other (available after the break) somewhat mocks Rainbow Six's stealth tactics. It's not exactly uncharted territory, but we can always appreciate such Yankovician displays of friendly competition between developers.

Yep, honestly - even if the multiplayer sucks balls with the unlockables and shit, the single player looks totally bad-ass. Picking up the Gold Edition on Tuesday :D

Why didn't I find it funny?
Is it because...
A) I'm not an American
B) It wasn't funny
C) The games crap anyway
You choose.

I am so on the fence about this game. I have a $50 Gamestop gift certificate burning a hole in my wallet, and I was going to spend it on this game since I'm such a big fan of the whole BF series, but now I'm hearing some negativity about it and I'm torn. Maybe I should spend my gift certificate on some older games that I missed out on before I had my 360.

the negativity is overblown.. people say that all the content has to be open for the $60 but then those fools think that content that happens to show up a month later as DLC in other games is totally bonus when in fact that stuff was planned and could of been in the retail box just as well.
boycott all DLC if you really have a spin about this stuff

I don't really want this game, but I do have to give it to them: they have great commercials.

So far I beta tested the multiplayer and played the single player demo. As far as I can tell it's just another FPS. These ads are pretty funny though, but I'm not buying a game based on witty comical ads. Only an asshat does that.

I love it. I fucking love it. Please God, let there be a TF2 "Meet The" parody next.

BF:BC is awesome!!! It's the best FPS I've played since Shadowrun. All of the fanboy kiddies can stick with their shallow, overrated, games and stay out of mine. Gamers know good games when they see them and don't need hype and good 'reviews' to justify their purchase of a terrific, deep, and hell of a fun game.

Is it just me or does Bad Company seem like a parody game? At any rate, I fucking WANT IT.

I literally want to buy this game just for the cutscenes, they're genuinely some of the most charming stuff I've seen since Portal.

Yet another game that would've gotten my 60 bucks if it had included online co-op. Oh well.

Dude, the online game-play IS an open Co-Op system. 12 on 12 or whatever the final number of players will be, this game is a masterpiece. Every tank, chopper, jeep, has a purpose and game advantage versus your enemy. Every gold crate or flag to conquer requires teamwork, and this includes using your headset. Or you can camp on a hill-top somewhere and cover as a sniper or mortar etc. If you have never played any of the Battlefield games of the past, I recomend you pick this up. This type of game-play, wether in Conquest mode or Dfender/Attacker mode, is not like COD4. It's way more than that.
COD4 had an AWESOME story mode, but online was more like Halo. BF: BC has an ok story mode... yet to find out, but the multiplayer will ROCK.
Adrenaline non-stop.

As long as CoD4 is still fun I see no reason to get this game.

So far the only time I see people putting down this game is because it's not CoD4. I can't help but be confused as the last time I played this game it was rather different than CoD4.. Apparently since CoD4 came out nobody is allowed to make modern shooters anymore?
Bottom line, it's not CoD4, stop treating like it is.

I loved the Gears parody. Although, that is a really awesome trailer (the gears one, not the Battlefield one)...
