Lord Bowser @ Jun 21st 2008 9:11AM
I voted for Penny Arcade because of Pikachu.
jhrf89 @ Jun 21st 2008 9:14AM
I just voted and it is tied at 1 all! NEver seen that before!
Neebs @ Jun 21st 2008 9:20AM
Rooster Teeth, for great justice.
Joe Cam @ Jun 21st 2008 9:22AM
You know what comes out the other side??
MOTHERFUCKERS!
Ranus Studios @ Jun 21st 2008 9:25AM
Wow. It's already Saturday.
Ghen @ Jun 21st 2008 6:08PM
And strangely it feels like monday because I'm reading webcomics. ZINGER.
j.howlett @ Jun 21st 2008 9:26AM
tbk pellets, i really liked the art style
capt_carl @ Jun 21st 2008 9:27AM
Electoral Kombat. Only cuz I thought the rest were quite unfunny.
Laggy @ Jun 21st 2008 9:42AM
I vote for Castle Vidcons, it should be part of the wrapup because it's better than most.

Marc @ Jun 21st 2008 1:24PM
That was a good comic, especially because it belittles the mac.
samfish @ Jun 21st 2008 2:28PM
Castle Vidicons is awesome, but it wouldn't be fair to include it since it would win rather handily week after week (because it's so awesome).
Arteen @ Jun 21st 2008 10:09AM
Cool, it's T.T., the clock from Diddy Kong Racing.
Joe @ Jun 21st 2008 11:28AM
Thanks for stating something we all knew!
Next, are you going to reveal we're reading the Weekly Webcomic Wrapup?
Arteen @ Jun 21st 2008 11:46AM
I didn't realize that /everyone/ has played Diddy Kong Racing and immediately recognizes this generic, minor character. My bad.
Hey guys, we're reading the Weekly Webcomic Wrapup! Neat!
Sami @ Jun 21st 2008 12:30PM
Who the fuck knows something like that? I thought it was just some random cartoon clock, didn't even think it was from a game.
RoboChamp @ Jun 21st 2008 1:11PM
Yeah Joe, no need to be a dick. I thought it was a random clock too.
Judd @ Jun 21st 2008 1:55PM
I knew that was a character in Diddy Kong Racing, but I forgot his name. I thought it was a relatively obscure reference. I can always count on Joystiq to have pictures with their stories that most people don't get, and it feels like I'm in on an inside joke when I get the reference.
And other times, I have no idea what the hell they're referencing.
http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/20/uk-short-on-skilled-video-game-labour/
Which is why I like to see readers state what the picture is about in the comments section. So thank you, Arteen.
BrennaCeDria @ Jun 21st 2008 10:26AM
As always when they're in it, I'm voting MNC. Partially because they're friends, but also because Metal Gear stuff like that's been pretty prevalent at my house, even though I don't have the game. If not for MNC, Penny Arcade would have had it this week since I'm all about the Pokemans.
Chris Gregg @ Jun 21st 2008 10:46AM
This is weird because I just played Diddy Kong Racing yesterday.
tc @ Jun 21st 2008 10:53AM
After looking at this weeks first PA comic (that swiftly did away with any link to video games in the first panel) I was all ready to continue my crusade against Penny Arcade.
The second one, however, was quite funny. So i'll let it slide this week!
BPM [MKWii: 2578 3585 8392] @ Jun 21st 2008 1:09PM
The first one is a Spore comic...
tc @ Jun 21st 2008 1:17PM
no, the first panel is a spore panel
Roto13 @ Jun 21st 2008 11:29AM
Truck Bearing Kibble and Fanboys are kind of tied. I'm going to vote in secret. WHOOO!
Mr Khan @ Jun 21st 2008 11:55AM
"Hi I'm T.T!"
Damn that was always an irritating game. I couldn't stop playing it, but it was annoying as hell
SEGA creature creator was tempting, but my inner Fire Emblem fan had to go with Awkward Zombie
Blue_Falcon @ Jun 21st 2008 12:47PM
Crying Piplup sealed the deal for me.
aristokrat @ Jun 21st 2008 12:56PM
I've got to go with Pellets of Langerhans for the diabetic coma joke. How can that not be funny?
CougRon @ Jun 21st 2008 1:15PM
OMG. The Saturday Weekly Webcomic Wrapup is actually up on a Saturday?!?! I don't think this has happened in months, maybe even a year. I'm astonished.
BPM [MKWii: 2578 3585 8392] @ Jun 21st 2008 1:18PM
Hi, T.T.! How you been, buddy?
... Still sore that I hit you that morning? Sheesh, man, get over it. I was in a deep sleep, and you were making a racket, so I was rather grumpy.
Monday Night Crew - Sadly, I could see myself doing something like that. :(
Rooster Teeth - Old heroes don't die... they just fade away.
Truck Bearing Kibble - Hehe... Diabeetus.
2P Start - Sadly, I can identify most of the parts to make that abomination...
PA#1 - Man, I wished God and Jesus made it so my head could spin. That'd be awesome. :(
Dueling Analogs - FLAWLESS VICTORY
Awkward Zombie - Amusing, although Marth did have a wife. If I made a comic about FE, it'd be about Marth being the first lesbian ruler of Altea. Oh, and Ike fights for his friends.
Extra Life - I get the joke, just don't care about WoW. Heh, still amusing, though.
PA #2 - Poor Pikachu and Piplup. lolz
David @ Jun 21st 2008 1:24PM
tbk ftw
Kira @ Jun 21st 2008 1:30PM
How does this (http://www.duelinganalogs.com/comic/2008/06/19/who-dropped-the-fall) not make it?
Mr Khan @ Jun 21st 2008 7:25PM
Damn, that probably would've overridden my vote
lol
Yourself @ Jun 21st 2008 1:40PM
Though "Electoral Combat" has been an image in my head since I heard the name Barack, I still have to say this was a rather lackluster week. I guess after last weeks record high of, what, 3 good comics? it would be too much to expect any to be funny again.
&rew @ Jun 21st 2008 2:00PM
Penny Arcade is clearly the best, but am I the only one who wonders why 8-bit theatre isn't in here?
samfish @ Jun 21st 2008 2:26PM
How is Electoral Kombat not winning?
I DEMAND A RECOUNT!
BPM [MKWii: 2578 3585 8392] @ Jun 21st 2008 2:58PM
Hehe
Korova *of the highlands* @ Jun 21st 2008 4:14PM
Funny took vacation this week. Or was it sick leave?
Anyway, I only laughed at MNC. Others werent' very engaging, although Jesus and Pikachu where ait.
Ixistant @ Jun 21st 2008 8:32PM
Awkward Zombie.
Can't resist a good Fire emblem comic.
Mind you, 2nd place goes to Truck Bearing Kibble, just for the Islets of Langarhans reference.
Atr-Slzr-Ctr @ Jun 21st 2008 11:09PM
Ok, so 2 penny arcade comics and no another more deserving one? (Slackers and Super Effective 09 comes to mind)
Thats bullshit Joystiq >:(
btw, PA relying to swears, just cuz cursing = funny.. sigh. (the jesus one was good, the pokemon one shouldn't need all the swears tough).
BPM [MKWii: 2578 3585 8392] @ Jun 22nd 2008 2:00AM
Swearing isn't necessarily funny. The context in which it's used can make it funny.
The comic is about My Pokémon Ranch, or more specifically, Gabe's Pokémon Ranch. And unlike other ranches where you run around and play with your Pokémon, he runs his ranch like a strict drill sergeant. He yells at his Pokémon and make them cry.
Atr-Slzr-Ctr @ Jun 22nd 2008 2:08AM
Yes, I get that, but the swearing isn't necessary, it cheapens the clever jokes, just like plenty of PA comics(and don't get me wrong, I love their humor "here and there").
My main issue is the "2 entries from 1 website" thing. I think its unfair.
BPM [MKWii: 2578 3585 8392] @ Jun 22nd 2008 9:55PM
It's done becaue people whined that X Penny Arcade was funnier than Y Penny Arcade, or some people said Y was better than X. And then some crazy people thought Z was the funniest (what's wrong with them?).
I actually think it's better this way: Each individual strip relies on its own merits, not the reputation of the comic as a whole. i.e. "I thought X comic was funnier this week, but since it isn't a choice, I'll vote for Y."
Of course, voting for these polls is kinda silly anyways. So, don't take it too seriously.
Turkish Superman @ Jun 21st 2008 11:13PM
Where's the "None of the above" option?
Alexisonfire @ Jun 22nd 2008 12:59AM
This crop weren't the best, but there wasn't really one that sucked either.
mietha CAG @ Jun 23rd 2008 12:54AM
I voted for the second PA, but honestly, none of them were very funny, if at all.
EBH @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:09PM
Second PA for me this week. I thought this one was good: http://ofnoobsandmen.com/2008/06/20/i-wish-id-smoked-more-blunts/
MrTyzik @ Jun 25th 2008 11:18PM
Yeah, not voting this week. Sorry Internet.
