Canadian console combos continue
7
FutureShop and Best Buy Canada have been bundling up Xbox 360's with a number of titles for quite some time but this week's promotional bundles might turn some Canadian heads. FutureShop is bundling copies of Halo 3 and Gears of War (both standard editions) with the purchase of the Xbox 360 Premium or Elite bundle while Best Buy is bundling Premium Xbox 360 consoles with the Guitar Hero III Bundle (including game and wireless guitar). Clearly the Best Buy promotion is the better deal of the two netting potential gamers a savings of over $100 while Halo 3 and Gears of War can be found at significantly lower prices. Have a friend on the fence about switching up from that crummy old Amiga to a new Xbox 360? Maybe one of these promos will tickle their fancy.

Toys R' Us (I think, or some other place, I'll check my flyers later) gives you a $25 gift card along with any game of your choice over $39.99 (i.e. Rock Band) when you but any Xbox model. Everyone's having sales to get rid of the old models.

Although Best Buy has the better bundle deal, Future Shop is offering a 30 dollar savings on GH3. This week it is 69.99 rather than 99.99. If I was buying a 360 I would get the Halo and Gears bundle and then buy GH3.

Those prices are at a pretty sweet price point imo. If it was $299 /w 2 games for the pro. They just need to make the xbox 360 $50.00 cheaper in Canada this year and I think they'll have it made for x-mas sales.
I think it would sell really well with just a minor further price cut. I remember I bought my original xbox when I was a high school student working at wal-mart when the price point reached $300.00 using my own money. Heck, it was only half a paycheque which seemed like nothing. Plus a free copy of Crimson Skies tipped me over.
I think the games will be compelling but $350.00 can still be a lot of money to teenagers w/o jobs who rely on mom/dad for their gaming systems. If you can get the system price into the two hundreds, it'll seem cheaper when a parent looks at $299.99. If you include two games the kids really want like Halo 3 + Gears of War, it should sell great.

Good Ad...But dont EVER diss the Amiga like that again. I wish I still had my Amiga w/ Shadow of the Beast, Blood Money, Sword of Sodan, TV sports Football. Why didnt you say crummy old over-hyped PS3.

To be fair by crummy I meant old and crusty, not bad.

Just FYI the Best Buy bundle is with ANY console (including the arcade). I'm thinking of buying an arcade console to get HDMI and GH3 and sell my old console.
