Full track list from Guitar Hero Aerosmith released
Despite most of us having a true distaste for zombie rockers Aerosmith, we've had a long-standing fear that we'd be tricked into buying Guitar Hero Aerosmith by a few non-Aerosmith tracks that we wouldn't be able to live without. Now, after we've seen the full track listing for the game, we're ashamed to admit that we're still on the fence.
We'll admit, the presence of Mott the Hoople and The Clash do make it significantly more tempting, as does the complete absence of "Don't Want to Miss a Thing," but we think about all that Aerosmith and we're right back at square one. Check out the full list after the break and let us know if you feel the same way.
Tier 1: "Getting the Band Together" (Nipmuc High School)
Tier 2: "First Taste of Success" (Max's Kansas City)
Tier 3: "The Triumphant Return" (The Orpheum)
Tier 4: "International Superstars" (Moscow)
Tier 5: "The Great American Band" (Half Time Show)
Tier 6: "Rock N Roll Legends" (Rock & Roll Hall of Fame)
Bonus Songs (The Vault)

Nice to see STP in there.
baby sea tuna @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:07AM
It was even nicer to see it in Rock Band 3 or so months ago.
Burritoclock @ Jun 24th 2008 9:37AM
For $2.50 or so... not surrounded by crap.
Cesaria (www.cesariatic.wordpress.com) @ Jun 23rd 2008 3:45PM
When did Rock Band 3 come out? Commas are your friend. :P
Draco Basileus @ Jun 23rd 2008 10:58AM
I hope this game tanks so that Activision learns to stop milking the franchise.
tmacairjordan87 @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:07AM
As long as they stop AFTER guitar hero metallica :P
Then again, if GH Metallica's track list is as bad as this one I probably won't even bother. I can already see Activision using 3/4 of the track list on shit from Load, Reload, and St. Anger >:(
Sir Fidlious Wong (Justin T. McElroy Memorial Burn of the Day Award) @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:15AM
tmac, I'm curious...
How did you reach that assumption? After all, the issue here with the Aerosmith version is it focuses far too heavily on the early stuff and practically all the recent stuff is missing. How do you think Metallica's version will somehow be the opposite.
tmacairjordan87 @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:17AM
because it's activision. They'll put just enough old stuff in to satisfy a few people, but leave a ton of great stuff out for GH4, 5, 6, 15 etc. A lot of aerosmith's bigger hits are missing from this list, but they gave juuust enough to satisfy some people.
jsn @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:23AM
I'd rather just wait for all the metallica songs coming for Rock Band. They have 18+ tracks lined up.
Andrew Corcoran @ Jun 23rd 2008 10:59AM
Check please.
I have literally zero interest in this. Not even She Sells Sanctuary can redeem it. It's just so blase; Aerosmith doesn't have that borderline universal appeal that was needed from a band to sell this.
Brian @ Jun 23rd 2008 1:30PM
This may have had better appeal if they actually included their top 40 hits. They left out 13 of Aerosmith's 21 top 40 singles.
Andrew Corcoran @ Jun 23rd 2008 1:55PM
Ok, but then you just have _more popular_ Aerosmith songs. This doesn't eliminate the main problem: you have predominantly Aerosmith songs. The target market of this game isn't a group of 44 year old foundry workers who subside off Skoal Bandits and PBR. There needs to be wider variety in order to make money. Themed song games are fine, like "rock", but when you restrict the content, you restrict the market.
PojoMofo @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:00AM
No thanks
Gavin @ Jun 23rd 2008 5:14PM
Yep...all that Aerosmith mean I won't be bothering with this. They are a completely overrated shit band with a bunch of shit songs that I have no interest in paying money for. Those hacks won't be getting any of my money.
Cephas @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:00AM
Where is "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)"?
baby sea tuna @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:09AM
He's on the left, holding the microphone.
notorious @ Jun 23rd 2008 1:27PM
Yeah no Dude (Looks Like a Lady) = no buy from me.
Jakka @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:28AM
@ bst
Thanks for making me spill shit on my keyboard! lol, jokes
CTC XBL-supapaypamawio PSN-ctclaw @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:30AM
I think that was the first real lol I've ever had in my life.
Shad3Wolf @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:06AM
How in the hell is Dream On a Tier 5 song?
The DLC version in GH3 was a joke and it's considered Tier 5 in this...?!
Ghen @ Jun 23rd 2008 2:29PM
The game's going to be pretty easy, no doubt. There just isn't anything on the list to satisfy.
Shagittarius @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:06AM
great track list, but no drums = no sale for me.
Shad3Wolf @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:06AM

Sam Earl @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:20AM
It says it's re-recorded, so there's probably some finger burning guitar solo been added somewhere along the line to make it less boring.
Cian @ Jun 23rd 2008 3:33PM
It's the same version that was in GH3, which was the rerecorded version so it's still ridiculously easy.
Ryan L @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:09AM
I am a huge Aerosmith fan, but some one, 24 complete Aerosmith Songs in a game that was suppose to be all aerosmith... AWFUL. I wont buy this at all, might not even rent it... They left off so much good stuff, what a shame
Cephas @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:15AM
Did anyone ever say it was "suppose to be all aerosmith"?
tmacairjordan87 @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:18AM
Nah, no one from Activision at least. That would have made too much sense.
NATO_Duke @ Jun 23rd 2008 12:08PM
The only thing that partially redeems this game so that non-Aerosmith groupies would buy it is the addition of additional artists.
I feel the opposite as you - the game would look better if there was more non-aero and then the bosses and such was where Aerosmith was pushed. Playing mostly their songs would get boring real quick.
Jakka @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:10AM
What about "I don't want to miss a thing"? That's probably their most popular song? I know there isn't visible guitar there, but come on.
btw, any news on Guitar Hero:Queen?
Tiptup300 @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:16AM
"btw, any news on Guitar Hero:Queen?"
Thank god there isn't any!
Jakka @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:25AM
"Thank god there isn't any!"
/opinon
Imho, I'd love to have GH:Queen especially if they added Mic & Drums.
Habiib @ Jun 23rd 2008 12:23PM
I must admit, playing Seven Seas of Rhye would be pretty epic.
3cubed (4squared plus 2squared) @ Jun 23rd 2008 12:38PM
Stone Cold Crazy would be insanely fun IMO.
Brian @ Jun 23rd 2008 1:03PM
Fat Bottom Girls ftw.
Tiptup300 @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:12PM
I was going towards "Rock Band: Queen DLC Pack"
OldKingCole @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:12AM
Sex Type Thing is pretty overcharted, so is Hard to Handle but that's the cover's fault (they got the same guy from GH3 who did TDWDTG and We Three Kings, and he threw in some more crazy stuff for the hell of it).
Train Kept a Rollin' looks like an overchart, but after looking at the guitar tabs (and more importantly, talking to my friend how can actually understand tabs), it's actually dead-on. And holy crap is it a hard song.
Farseer (GDI) @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:14AM
"...we're ashamed to admit that we're still on the fence."
Okay... what in this track list put you on the fence? If anything, this list helped cement me on the "hell no" side.
Tiptup300 @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:18AM
Yeah, why would we pay for songs we already bought for Rock Band?
Farseer (GDI) @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:20AM
lol, exactly! I already have the only tracks that peak my interest, and with the RB versions I can play guitar, or base, or drums, or sing...
Cephas @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:15AM
You're complaining about the lack of "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing"? Really? That would be a horrible song for Guitar Hero!
Rollins @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:20AM
Bet you they're saving it for World Tour.
JJ Rooster @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:16AM
41 songs and they're charging full price for this shit?
hahahaha.... no.
OldKingCole @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:18AM
And yet 41 DLC songs on Rock Band would cost about $80-$90, depending on how many single songs you get.
Makes ya think, don't it?
tmacairjordan87 @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:20AM
You're right in a sense, but with DLC you can pick and choose what songs you want. You can't do that with disc versions.
Sam Earl @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:27AM
I would also say that with DLC it's then all nicely contained within one game. If one were to buy all these songs as DLC, you could hop between Train Kept A Rollin' and Cliffs of Dover, then back to some other Aerosmith nonsense.
JJ Rooster @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:52AM
Nice try OldKingCole, but as mentioned, the DLC I buy is going to be stuff I really want, plus you can play it 4 ways, and you don't have to buy it in 3 packs like Guitar Hero... so all it makes me think is "thank god for Rock Band".
Kizzle @ Jun 23rd 2008 3:36PM
With DLC:
1. You get to buy what you want and are not forced into anything
2. Sales can occur, so you get songs for half-price (or free) - witness the recent McDonalds promotion
3. It works across multiple Rock Band games
Makes me think? It sure does...makes me think that between GH's overpriced and lackluster DLC and their crappy cash-in games like this, I'll never buy another Activision/Neversoft music game again.
Sir Fidlious Wong (Justin T. McElroy Memorial Burn of the Day Award) @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:16AM
Neversoft: Actively proving Rock the 80's wasn't sooo bad.
Dr. @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:29AM
Say what you want, I liked that "game."
