- US Census Bureau PopClock estimate of Earth's population: 6,705,451,100

I accounted for 600 kills with Fernando as my target.
Fernando Rocker @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:51PM
Yeah, you wish.
Never played against you, but anytime you want, just tell me.
t_m @ Jun 24th 2008 5:06AM
thats nothing, everyone kills fernando.
Probably about 1/3 of those kills are fernando.

Woah there's nearly 7 billion people on Earth now?
Lookit me, i'm one in 7 billion!
Nutchos @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:53PM
Yea but you're all just figments of my imagination anyway...
Korova *of the highlands* @ Jun 24th 2008 2:07AM
I wonder how many different people an average human actually sees in a lifetime. Its probably around 500,000 (rural and city dwellers combined)
Cal @ Jun 24th 2008 4:44AM
Depends on if they like their sports (ie go to games in their big fancy stadia)
finnith @ Jun 24th 2008 3:11PM
Can I have a figment?
Korova *of the highlands* @ Jun 24th 2008 10:12PM
Cal,
+1 for stadia. That's some hot Latin love right there.
venk @ Jun 23rd 2008 11:49PM
Stories like these make me wonder how much virtual blood is on my hand. From stomping on Gombas to taking out PMC Soldiers, I imagine I've done in 100-200k.
Microswirl (MKWii:1676- 4270-3674) @ Jun 24th 2008 12:46AM
Every dot in Pac-man is a galaxy containing trillions of lifeforms.... ahem, you monster.

Wait a sec, you mean this article isn't about Call of Duty: World at War?!?
Fosssil @ Jun 24th 2008 1:12AM
Sadly, no...
But it is about another underwhelming and altogether disappointing First-Person Shooter!
Scotto @ Jun 24th 2008 1:20AM
Ohh wise Fossil, please grant me the powers of foresight so that I too may one day be able to put down video games that are still months from release.

That picture is epic win, Monty Python FTW.
Cal @ Jun 24th 2008 4:45AM
How dare they tarnish the epic Monty Python with the shat stain that is Halo 3, someone ought to die for this blasphemy...
Haggard @ Jun 24th 2008 11:34AM
The pic looks very next-gen graphics.. brown filter and bloom :P
Scott @ Jun 24th 2008 12:05AM
Thats crazy!
But then, lets compare Halo (2 and 3's) kill count to the original counter-strike =p
Whoot108 @ Jun 24th 2008 12:16AM
And that is just campaign... think of how many times more have been killed in online play...
tdub301 @ Jun 24th 2008 12:58PM
meh, me and 2 or 3 friends have easily killed millions of bots in Perfect Dark multiplayer, playing it for hours on end every weekend night when we were younger. If 3 or 4 can kill that much, billions isn't such a big number
mr nimblewick @ Jun 24th 2008 12:19AM
The way things are going in the world, I'm afraid that figures is going to get easier and easier to cross.
WRE (PSN: WorstReviewEver; Gamertag: HaloKissesBoys; Wii Friend Code: 4204-4590-6106-3583) @ Jun 24th 2008 12:33AM
Sorry Mr. Nimblewick but barring a nuclear holocaust, natural disaster of epic proportions or (the most unlikely of all) a new-found sense of sexual responsibility, that's very unlikely. We have way too many pussies out there masquerading as parents that won't teach their kids that getting knocked-up isn't okay. Unfortunately, the movie "Idiocracy" is probably the most accurate depiction of what our future will look like. I sympathize with your obvious humanitarian sentiments, I do, but our prowess at killing each other is only superseded by our tendency to stick our dicks in something for an average of 3 minutes.
Ghen @ Jun 24th 2008 7:27AM
3 minutes? I feel sorry for you.
A Pissed-off English Gamer @ Jun 24th 2008 11:58AM
Also, it's always easier to kill than to have a baby.
Jakka @ Jun 24th 2008 1:42PM
3 Minutes? What about the so-called "players"?
These guys can nail 5 chicks within 3 minutes.
ahsayuninew @ Jun 24th 2008 12:23AM
Let me know when the body count surpasses the earth's body count. Then I'll be impressed
Farseer (GDI) @ Jun 24th 2008 12:51AM
The earth's body count being...
Microswirl (MKWii:1676- 4270-3674) @ Jun 24th 2008 12:55AM
That'd be about 125 Billion. Even more than that if you were to count Neanderthals, who I'm sure were all wiped out by Master Chief himself.
juju187 @ Jun 24th 2008 12:39AM
Wait a sec, you mean this article isn't about Call of Duty: World at War?!?
Word... +1
Obie @ Jun 24th 2008 1:06AM
7 billion people? No wonder there is not enough food and gas anymore!
Zaidyn @ Jun 24th 2008 1:53AM
There's never been enough gas for everyone on the planet. As for food... maybe if grocery stores didn't throw away so much surplus food, and fat-assed westerners shared their food a little more... maybe there'd be enough for everyone.
Obie @ Jun 24th 2008 1:56AM
Even worse they want to grow crops to turn into bio fuels and not food....doesn't seem very efficient!
Korova *of the highlands* @ Jun 24th 2008 2:20AM
In the medium term there is always enough food because those who dont have enough either die or dont reproduce (or both).
In fact there is constantly more and more food, that's why there are more and more people. The "not enough food for everybody" idea really refers to unreliable supplies rather than general insufficiency. Its a logistical problem - that's the reason supermarkets throw out food while people starve in China.
Food and humanity are in positive feedback loops - the more of one the more of the other allowing even more of the first.
Razion @ Jun 24th 2008 2:30AM
And to think that's only counting the people who have Xbox live.
Duhr... @ Jun 24th 2008 3:50AM
The stat is totally irrelevant and this whole article's wash, because your source didn't understand Halo stats and you didn't bother to check up on them. What's worse is other equally 'brilliant' bloggers have linked to this article without checking the veracity... and this is how we live in a world with Bush serving two terms in office.
If you have a means to spread information to the world, by all means, be intelligent and secondly, research your comments before being world famous for poor journalism.
The kills listed are Covenant (NPC's), so in fact NONE of those kills were played by human 360 owners. What's more, none of the NPC's are digitally-reproduced humans. The Covenant are a fictional militaristic and theocratic alliance of ALIEN races who serve as the main antagonistic force in Halo.
