PS3 Fanboy got a handful of tips this evening, purportedly sharing some screens of the PS3's long-promised "trophy" system, the console's would-be Gamerscore equivalent. From the looks of these screens – which have a couple things going for them: they're not blurry and that Clank avatar is real – the trophy system includes something that strongly resembles a Gamercard, including total number of trophies gathered along with a "Level" ostensibly gathered by collecting trophies of varying values.
PS3 Fanboy has a couple more pics, along with some extra rumors regarding the console's in-game XMB ("some things will require you to leave the game"), but we're guessing we won't know anything for sure until E3 rolls around next month. What say ye, internet detectives?

You know, there's something wrong with the universe when people start ripping off Microsoft's ideas.

They wouldn't have to rip them off if people wouldn't whine at them for not having the "AMAZING ONLINE SERVICE THAT XBOX HAS!!!!!!!".
People asked for it, Sony delivered. Why are people bitching about how they've stolen something?

I think this looks nifty, though I am confused the leveling. (There was a screenshot showing a level-up system with leveling.) So, people will go in levels as to how ‘l33t’ they are, as opposed to a generalized number? That seems like a way to make people feel like crap fast for not leveling up. I imagine you will deal with some Level 5 gamers giving Level 1 gamers shit in Warhawk.
I'm curious how that will work exactly. Yet, I think the idea of achievements/trophies or whatever just adds a little fun to a game, and make you want to try new things. It’s a plus overall. People need to take the gamer scores and such less seriously and just enjoy it. If you hate the idea of people seeing what you play so much, then don't give everyone your username. Or play often on a back-up account. That way you can be all secret squirrel.
Why are people so scared of others seeing what games they play anyway? You are playing games in the first place. None of it makes you the higher echelon than the rest of us. (It makes me think some people may be a tad conceited.) Whether you get a trophy playing Catz with your girlfriend or one for killing Big Boss’s Chihuahua, it doesn’t have an impact on your life. Its all for fun.

I can tell you now that those are real, but mock-ups. Expect things to change for the final release.

The main problem with this is that Sony are just aping Xbox Live. They haven't brought anything new to the table, and the thing they are bringing that's new- Home- looks like a complete waste of time.
