I have this game
it is fun for people wanting a survival horror fix.
The controls are often uber clunky and feel like the original resident evil games, although the ability to switch to first person sometimes rectifies this problem.
The puzzles are fun and the physics engine is impressive.
For cheevos whore, a lot of the achievements are practically thrown at you.
My only major gripe with it, is that it just isn't scary enough.

Thanks for the insight.
Don't have enough money to buy it after buying 3 games straight (NG2,MGS4, GTA4), so i guess its a rent.

First off, MadDemon is a spambot or something of the like, posting the same jerkstore comment at every post it visits. Ban him or her, or whatev.
Secondly, and I say this with an open mind: what survival/horror game from the past could you say was perfect? Even your favorite (considering you're a fan of the genre) has some slow 'filler' moments for one thing; puzzles, repetition, etc.
Sure, Alone In The Dark may not be a perfect game, but that won't let me stop my hand at enjoying it this week. Maybe it WILL be total suckage (Dark Sector, Vampire Rain,) not all that great (Silent Hill: The Room) or only meh ( much of the puzzles in Resident Evil 3.) But I've played and remotely enjoyed myself from time-to-time with each.
Hell, I'll even put this out there: Bioshock wasn't my cup of tea really. I enjoyed the game more than the demo, but after beating it in 6 days on a Blockbuster rental, I haven't looked back and said "You know, I'd love to buy that game.."
..so we'll see.

...I've also had the odd past of enjoying games within the genre that were reviewed poorly. (Read up about Sega CD's "Mansion Of The Hidden Souls".)

The game is fine, but I'm sure that you will cry about the car's moments. Hope that you will have this in your country :)
